Necrofugitive is a dark platformer about a shapeshifter; now on Kickstarter

In Necrofugitive, you play a mysterious prisoner who can transform into a Slaughter Demon. It’s coming out in 2021 for PC, PS4, and Switch.

There’s plenty of games that let you play as a noble hero protecting the realm from the horrid baddies, so it’s a little fresh (like, in a rotting corpse kind of way) to see Necrofugitive, where you play as an evil shapeshifter who turns into a demon and absolutely wrecks some medieval people’s crap.

The game plays as an action platformer, and it centres around the concept of “fight or flight”, and you only get one life. Lose, and you’ll have to start your prison escape all over again. You’ll mostly be playing as the human-ish Prisoner, but if you survive long enough, you’ll also get to transform into the far more devastating Slaughter Demon.

Another point of interest is that your enemies will be aggressive and intelligent, and they will track you down and hunt you if you decide to run.

Necrofugitive is planned for release in October 2021, across PC (via Steam), PS4, and Nintendo Switch. To reach that point, it needs $25,000 for its Kickstarter goal, of which it has already amassed over $6,300 thanks to more than 160 backers.
