This game has been out for a while, and I have played quite a bit of it. What Is Brigador Killers?

If you are new to the franchise, then you would want to know what exactly the game is because looking at the videos or the Steam page, you are just going to get more confused. So, basically, it is a tactical, top-down action game and the sequel to Brigador: Up-armored Edition.

It is set in a cyberpunk world where you have to take down your targets and cause destruction. Now, the destruction is only possible with the help of powerful vehicles, which the Early Access version may not include as much as the demo.

So, this game is basically about completing missions using the best things you have got.

What Makes Brigador Killers Good?

First, let’s talk about what makes this game good. The first point I would note is that the destruction and combat in this game are arguably very good. I would not call the combat absolutely perfect because there are some shortcomings, and some weapons are really annoying to use.

That said, overall, the destruction and combat are solid and somewhat addicting. They make you want to continue playing the mission even after the job is done. I also like the atmosphere quite a lot because I am a sucker for cyberpunk aesthetics. So, that is a plus too.

Other than that, I would say the more animations in this game are also a plus. That is because, unlike the first game in the franchise, you can move around on foot, and there are many different ways to complete a mission. You do not necessarily need a heavily armored vehicle or a mech to complete a mission.

You can absolutely complete a mission by being clever. For instance, in one of the missions, the Kishka Checkpoint, I did not use a mech. Instead, I used the cop sedan to head straight to the target, take it down, and then used another sedan to head to the exit.

So, you do not necessarily need a mech. You can be creative and complete a mission, and that is one of the biggest pluses for me in this game.

What Makes Brigador Killers Bad?

Now, as the game is in Early Access, there are, of course, going to be some bad things about the game that would make it frustrating. Many players on Steam have left reviews regarding the progression of the game. They have claimed that the demo was much better in terms of content and mechs, and I fully agree.

There should have been better campaign content and easier access to mechs. That would have made this game much better; for now, it can be frustrating. The game is actually brutal, as the difficulty spikes way too much as you progress.

There are a lot of cops that would suddenly spawn out of nowhere, and you are left to survive for a few minutes. That makes the experience quite frustrating. You can literally die a few seconds after you start a mission. Also, the health bar of the character is way too low.

The brutal difficulty is not something that gets this much criticism, but the unfair difficulty does deserve all the criticism, and I think this game is being difficult just for the sake of being difficult. Other than that, the UI is also a little bit janky, and the character movement needs some work.

Is Brigador Killers Worth Buying?

For now, I think you should not buy the game even if you love the franchise. That is because the game is not close to its best condition, and that makes sense given that it is in Early Access. However, the concerning part is that people claimed the demo was much better than the game, and I agree with them.

Somehow, the Early Access version has transitioned worse from the demo, and that is a sign of concern. That said, I would agree that some of the missions were fun to play, and the combat can be addicting. So, if you really want to try out the game and want to help the developers by giving your reviews about what can be improved, then by all means, you should check it out.

However, if you want the best experience from this game, hold on until the developers have addressed some of the main concerns. For now, I would rate this game 6/10, so it would be better to wait. You can also check the Steam reviews of the game, as currently it has a mixed reception.
