Defeat mythical demons in Indian action adventure Raji: An Ancient Epic

In Raji: An Ancient Epic, you control a little girl who dares stand before a powerful demon, all to save her brother. It’s currently up on Kickstarter.

In one of the more questionable elections of the ancient times, a little girl is chosen to fight the ultimate fight: defeat the vicious demon Mahabalasura and rescue her brother, thereby preventing the otherwise impending demon invasion of the human world. That’s a hefty burden to place on a little girl, but it seems that our capable heroine Raji is on top of things already.

Raji: An Ancient Epic’s most striking feature is no doubt its Hindu-themed aesthetic, which borrows from places as diverse as Rajasthan in India and Bali in Indonesia. The game itself is set in ancient India, and its rendition should be heartfelt given that it’s the debut effort of an Indian studio named Nodding Heads Games. There are demons and gods both borrowed from Indian mythology: the demons you will conquer, while the gods will lend their strengths to you.

The game looks particularly striking when in motion, thanks to its fluid animations and spectacular particle effects, which aren’t features you see very often in indie games. Have a look at the Kickstarter trailer below:

Raji: An Ancient Epic is currently seeking funds on Kickstarter. At the time of this writing, the game is only 27% of the way through, and still has 13 days to go. The game has also appeared as a pitch on Square Enix Collective, where it secured 95% positive votes.

Raji: An Ancient Epic is estimated to release sometime around February 2019. The game is being developed for PC (via Steam), PS4, Xbox One and the Switch. Have a look at the official website here.
