Armello to release on Xbox One alongside first major DLC on 30 August
09 Aug, 2016
Armello’s first major DLC, The Usurpers Hero Pack adds new heroes as well as a powerful new “Clan Ring”. It will be available on all platforms, don’t worry.
Getting someone interested in Armello is fairly straightforward. You can say one of two things: that it is essentially a card-based, digital board game. Or more compellingly, it is “Game of Thrones with animals”, as Kotaku describes it. The kingdom of Armello is ruled by the Mad King, and four clans are out to try and topple him from his post. These clans are the Rat, Bear, Rabbit and Wolf clans, and they have a lot to do as they complete quests, deal with other players, beat monsters and ultimately scheme to take over the Iron Throne Throne of Armello.
Nearly a year after release, Armello gets its first major DLC pack. Titled “The Usurpers Hero Pack”, it features brand new usurping heroes, one for each clan.
Magna, the Unbroken is a “tank-like” Wolf, with the ability to reflect attacks. Elyssia, Wardress of Warrens belongs to the Rabbit Clan, and can fortify settlements, making her a good fit for economy-minded players. Ghor, The Wyldkin is a Bear Clan hero who can cast spells for one less magic per adjacent forests, essentially making him a honey-fuelled druid who is also a bear. Finally, the Rat Clan hero is Sargon, The Death Teller. His special ability lets him see cards before they’re drawn.
Each clan will also receive a “Clan Ring” in the DLC, which provides benefits while also boosting the base stats of your heroes.

Armello, which originally released on 1 September 2015, is available on Steam and PlayStation 4. As with those platforms, the Xbox One version of the game will be priced at $19.99 USD. The Usurpers Hero Pack will be priced at $9.99 USD. Becoming the first Rabbit khaleesi of Armello, however, will be priceless.
