Battlefield 6, one of the most anticipated games of 2025, is set to release in just a few days. For the first time in a long while, the fanbase is genuinely excited about a new Battlefield title. This entry in the franchise is expected to bring major success to EA.
However, it will not be without competition, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is scheduled to launch on November 14, 2025. While the next Call of Duty poses a serious challenge, Battlefield 6 is likely to dominate. Call of Duty has held the top spot for years, but with the overwhelmingly positive reception and strong pre-release momentum, Battlefield 6 may finally take the throne.
Battlefield 6 Beta Vs. Black Ops 7 Beta

The Battlefield 6 beta was released in August and ran for about eight days, including early access. Upon launch, the game quickly became the best-seller on Steam. For over a week, it held the top spot and remained in the top five best sellers for quite some time.
The beta attracted over 520,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, which is a major milestone by any measure. While the first teaser trailer sparked interest, it featured little actual gameplay, so fans kept their expectations in check. However, the release of the full multiplayer trailer generated significant hype, surprising many fans and building strong anticipation for the beta.
EA has been promoting the game for months, so the beta’s success is not entirely unexpected. Across all platforms, the beta saw more than 22 million players. According to a recent report, pre-orders have already surpassed 1.7 million.

On the other hand, Black Ops 7 multiplayer trailer was met with a lot of negativity. As of the time of writing, the trailer has 48 million views, 69,000 likes, and 531,000 dislikes (estimates, not official). The game’s trailer has around eight times more dislikes than likes. In comparison, the Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal trailer has 311,000 likes and only 3,100 dislikes. The difference is huge.
Another thing worth noting is that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta failed to attract as many players as the Battlefield 6 beta. In fact, it reached a peak of almost 100,000. This shows utter dominance by the upcoming Battlefield. Also, an insider has claimed that Black Ops 7 pre-orders are down compared to the previous game in the franchise.
The Community Is Favoring Battlefield 6

It is becoming increasingly clear that Call of Duty has lost its way. Many fans have expressed strong dislike for the goofy skins and mechanics introduced in recent titles. Despite growing criticism and the rising hype around Battlefield 6, a report indicated that Activision’s higher-ups initially did not view the game as a threat.
However, after continued backlash and Battlefield 6 gaining more momentum, Activision began to respond to fan feedback. It has now been reported that future titles will avoid including more goofy skins. Still, these changes have not been enough to stop the wave of negativity surrounding the game.

At this point, it is clear which title the gaming community is leaning toward. With Battlefield 6 nearing its release, it is no surprise to see it sitting at the top of the best-seller charts. Even during the beta phase and after the multiplayer trailer dropped, the game maintained its best-seller status for weeks.
In contrast, the Black Ops 7 beta was recently released, yet the game is not performing well in sales. As of now, it is ranked 66th among Steam’s best sellers, failing to generate the momentum many expected.
