Cooking Simulator will teach you to cook and set fire to your kitchen in early 2019
03 Dec, 2018
A realistic physics engine driving a kitchen full of delicious ingredients and cooking equipment. What could go wrong? Find out in Cooking Simulator.
We’ve had all kinds of simulators in video games so far, straddling both the hyper-serious and the hyper-comical realms. Cooking Simulator looks like it’s going to straddle the two extremes with its physics-driven culinary simulation. It’s being developed right now by Polish dev Wastelands Interactive, and it will be published by PlayWay. Although there’s no release date set for the game just yet, we have learned that the game will release sometime in early 2019.
Have a look at the game’s trailer below:
The game features a career mode so you can work your way up to becoming a true expert chef, although the developers recommend you play the tutorials first to get a hang of the game. As you progress, you’ll unlock new recipes, as well as (in-game) social media reviews and Fame Stars.
There’s no automation or one-button solutions in Cooking Simulator: you’ll have to micromanage your kitchen yourself. There’s over a hundred ingredients available to use in your cooking, and apart from the given recipes, you’re free to cook whatever you like. I look forward to the speedruns for this one.
The game also has some steep system requirements. Check them out below:
