Graveyard Keeper gets free ‘Breaking Dead’ DLC; allows automation via zombies

Graveyard Keeper has received its first DLC, and it’s themed around resurrecting corpses and using them to automate actions. It’s free for all owners!

Lazy Bear Games has come out with the first DLC for Graveyard Keeper, and it takes the game’s dark premise even further. Now, apart from selling human meat and tossing bodies into rivers, you can also resurrect corpses to create your very own zombie army. While you can’t use the zombie army to take over the village, you can use it to automate tedious tasks. It’s a godsend, if you ask me, as tedium was one of my complaints about the game when I reviewed it. Well, not a godsend, maybe, but you know what I mean.

The new DLC is titled ‘Breaking Dead’ (wink wink), and it most prominently adds the Ressurection Table improvement to the game, which you can install in the morgue and use to resurrect corpses. Here’s what you can do with them:

  • Automate gathering of stone, wood, and have zombies craft your items
  • Taking care of your graveyard’s garden has never been easier when zombies do it for you
  • Create logistics chains where zombies automate sale of merchandise, for extra profit
  • Modify and upgrade your zombies (they might need better organs) to make them more efficient

Have a look at the DLC trailer below:

Breaking Dead is available completely free of cost and is made available as a free update to the base game. If you already own the game, you should get an update on Steam that includes this new DLC.

Graveyard Keeper is available now on PC, Mac, and Linux. Check out the official website here, and the Steam page here.
