The Golden Joystick Awards is a major annual event in the gaming industry. This year’s edition has already been announced, with nominations revealed for all categories – except for Ultimate Game of the Year, which will be announced separately. Voting for this category will take place from November 3 to 7.
The main highlight of this year’s show is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, leading with six nominations. Additionally, Hollow Knight Silksong has received three nominations, including major categories such as Best Self-Published Indie Game and PC Game of the Year.
Hollow Knight Silksong Receives Major Nominations At Golden Joystick Awards

Hollow Knight: Silksong has a strong presence at the event. It has been nominated for Best Self-Published Indie Game, which is a major achievement. For those unaware, it was developed by a team of just three people. The game shattered all expectations at launch, reaching nearly 600,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, showcasing the dominance of indie games this year.
Many developers even delayed their games because of Silksong’s release. So, it’s no surprise to see it making a big impact at the Golden Joystick Awards. It has also been nominated for the PC Game of the Year award.

While that is a significant recognition, its competition is tough, including The Alters, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Peak, Abiotic Factor, and Dune: Awakening. Deciding which game takes the win will not be easy.
The Best Self-Published Indie Game category is also highly competitive. Other notable nominees include Hades 2, the highest-rated game of 2025, along with Peak and Promised Mascot Agency.
Team Cherry Is Nominated For Studio Of The Year

Hollow Knight: Silksong has received two major nominations at the Golden Joystick Awards. In addition to being nominated for Best Self-Published Indie Game and PC Game of the Year, its developer, Team Cherry, a team of just three members, has also been nominated for Studio of the Year.
This is a huge achievement for such a small studio, but the competition is fierce. Sandfall Interactive, the developer behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Bloober Team, known for Silent Hill 2 Remake and Cronos: The New Dawn, are also in the running.
Voting is already open, so make sure to vote for your favorite game. In this event, the media does not decide the winners. Instead, a massive public vote is held from October 3 to October 31 to determine the winners in each category.
The nominees are selected by the media and the Golden Joystick Awards’ own judging panel. However, the final winners are entirely chosen by fans.
