Indie Game Releases of the Week: 14th to 20th October 2019

This week in indie games, we have the puzzle game Felix the Reaper, classic-style shooter Demon Pit, talky RPG Disco Elysium, and more.

No matter what console you prefer to play on, there’s bound to be something interesting for you this week. We have a large host of multi-platform indie releases, and at least one very exciting exclusive. Have a look at our picks below.

Disco Elysium (15th October on PC)

Developer: ZA/UM
Publisher: ZA/UM

Disco Elysium is an isometric RPG that’s heavy on the actual roleplaying, as well as on conversations. You play as a detective in a city full of dark mysteries, and your unique set of skills will lead you to greatness or disaster.

Felix The Reaper (17th October on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Developer: Kong Orange
Publisher: Daedalic Entertainment

Felix the Reaper is described as a romantic comedy about the life of death, and this quirky premise is realised in the form of a dance-happy puzzle game in which you make sure people die (but also, that Felix impresses the love of his life).

Stranded Sails – Explorers of the Cursed Islands (17th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Developer: Lemonbomb Entertainment
Publisher: rokaplay

Stranded Sails – Explorers of the Cursed Islands is an open world game of exploration and farming. You may be shipwrecked on a mysterious archipelago, but don’t let that stop you from building and farming your way to survival.

Kine (17th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia)

Developer: Gwen Frey
Publisher: Gwen Frey

Kine is a puzzle game about a bunch of machines that are also aspiring musicians. There isn’t much to go on for this title, but if you like puzzles and music, this seems like a safe enough joint.

Demon Pit (18th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Developer: Psychic Software & DoomCube
Publisher: Digerati

Demon Pit is a classic 90-style first-person shooter that will have mowing down endless hordes of hellish demons, all in a constantly-changing arena. The goal is to get as high on the leaderboard as you can.
