Indie Game Releases of the Week: 20th to 26th January 2020
19 Jan, 2020
This week in indie games, we have the bullet hell roguelike Ether Loop, the puzzle adventure HellScape: Two Brothers, and more.
New week, new games! This time around, we’re seeing quite a few ports to consoles, and very few originals (which are all coming to PC). It’s been a quiet month so far, but that’s all the more reason to clear your backlog! Be sure to check the Other Indie Releases section for everything else that’s also releasing.
Ether Loop (21st January on PC)
Ether Loop is a bullet hell game with roguelike elements, and it’s going to test your reflexes and quick-thinking skills. You’re stuck in a loop, and the only way out is to fight straight through all the procedurally generated levels with their random encounter enemies.
Football, Tactics & Glory (22nd January on PS4, Xbox One, Switch)
Football, Tactics & Glory is a game that takes you into all the thinking and tactics that’s required to pull off a football win. It blends elements of management and RPG to let you create a team and make the difficult decisions necessary to get it to succeed in the big leagues. The game is presently also available on PC.
Der Geisterturm / The Ghost Tower (23rd January on PC, Linux)
Der Geisterturm (German for “The Ghost Tower”) has you piloting a robotic combat suit as you explore a mysterious tower. The game blends dungeon crawling with survival horror, all with a distinctly simple wireframe style. The game has turn-based combat and resource management as well.
HellScape: Two Brothers (23rd January on PC)
HellScape: Two Brothers is an atmospheric indie game that is inspired by Dante Aligheiri’s Divine Comedy. In this action-adventure game, you play as the two brothers – one of whom is good with might and the other with magic – as they search for their sister in the depths of hell itself.
Mosaic (23rd January on PS4, Xbox One, Switch)
Mosaic is a narrative adventure game set in a corporate dystopia, where you play as a man who is little more than a cog in the great capitalist machine. As you experience the drudgery of his everyday life, he also starts to awaken to change. The game is already available on PC, Mac, Linux, and Apple Arcade.
