Indie Game Releases of the Week: 7th to 13th October 2019

This week in indie games, we have a colourful new Yooka-Laylee game, the heavy metal actioner Valfaris, action RPG Indivisible, and more!

This is a particularly thumping week for indie game releases, as we see some long-awaited titles finally hitting launch. Check out our picks below, but also have a look at the ones that didn’t make the cut – we had a particularly hard time narrowing them down this time, and there’s a ton of great new releases that might slip under the radar.

Indivisible (8th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Developer: Lab Zero Games
Publisher: 505 Games

Indivisible is an action RPG and also a platformer, and it’s inspired heavily by the myriad cultures of Asia. You play as the fiery Ajna as she’s out to save the world using her own abilities as well as those of incarnations that she can summon to battle.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince (8th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Developer: Frozenbyte
Publisher: Modus Games

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince brings back the wizard-fighter-rogue trio as they search for a prince afflicted by terrible nightmares that spill into reality and threaten to plunge the world into darkness. Its action RPG gameplay is open to up to 4 players in co-op, both online and local.

The Bradwell Conspiracy (8th October on PC, PS4; 10th October on Switch; 11th October on Xbox One)

Developer: A Brave Plan
Publisher: Bossa Studios

The Bradwell Conspiracy is a narrative adventure about corporate duplicity, and it features puzzle-based gameplay that requires taking photographs, 3D printing stuff, and communicating with another survivor of an explosion.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (8th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Developer: Playtonic Games
Publisher: Team17

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair marks the return of the vibrant and bouncy duo as they adventure in a 2D perspective and attempt to thwart their nemesis Capital B once more.

Valfaris (10th October on PC, Switch)

Developer: Steel Mantis
Publisher: Big Sugar

Valfaris is a heavy metal-themed action-platformer in which protagonist Therion must return to his home, the fortress Valfaris, and uncover what caused its fall.
