As we move on to February, we have several rarer indies that could easily have slipped under the radar. We’ve got everything from space hijinks to shooting to plagues to… squirrel surveillance?!
The Captain is Dead
February 1 on PC, Mac
The Captain is Dead is a survival strategy game with a premise that’s straight what it says on the tin. It’s based on the board game of the same name, and it has you playing as a member of the ship’s crew as they use their unique talents to defend their spaceship against an alien threat.

February 3 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS Vita, Switch
Habroxia 2 is a classic-style shoot ’em up featuring non-linear gameplay, ship upgrades, boss fights, New Game+, and even a boss rush mode. As the starpilot Sabrina, you must venture into the unknown to find your missing pilot father, while battling the forces that attacked human Free Space.
Nuts
February 4 on PC, Mac, Switch
Nuts is a mystery adventure about squirrel surveillance, in which you play as a rookie field researcher in the depths of Melmoth Forest. You plant cameras by day, watch the footage by night, and attempt to track the paths of the squirrels caught on camera. The squirrels hold the key to a strange mystery, as you’ll discover in this fully-voice-acted adventure.
Henry Mosse and the Wormhole Conspiracy
February 4 on PC, Mac
Henry Mosse and the Wormhole Conspiracy is a point-and-click adventure about an ambitious teenager in a futuristic galaxy, who uncovers a sinister conspiracy.
