Interactive Futures 2021 to showcase career options in games to students of all ages

This year, Interactive Futures will highlight careers in video games to students and parents, and it will all be happening online.

Interactive Futures 2021 will take place from Tuesday, February 16th to Saturday, February 20th, it has been announced. The event which will be launched through a keynote from Minister of State for Digital and Culture Caroline Dinenage MP. It will be completely virtual, even if it will be focused on Leamington Spa, UK. The event will showcase the talent of video game developers from the region and beyond, but this year, it will also put a special spotlight on the many career options available in the video game industry.

The first day, February 16th, will be dedicated to showcasing games from the Coventry and Warwickshire region, which is home to studios such as Codemasters, Ubisoft, Playground Games, and Mediatonic. It’s worth noting that the video game sector in the Leamington Spa region is one of the largest in the UK.

The next four days, from February 17th to February 20th, will feature a host of online sessions aimed at not only primary and secondary school children, but also young people and higher education students. The sessions will provide guidance and practical advice to students interested in exploring a video game career.

Furthermore, there will be sessions for parents as well, held on Saturday.

Also worth looking forward to across these four days will be one-to-one portfolio reviews and advice clinics, which will be available in interactive sessions courtesy of Digital Schoolhouse.

The schedule has been created with ‘Zoom fatigue’ in mind, so you won’t have to sit through entire sessions – as a delegate, you will be able to drop in and out of sessions depending on what content you want to check out.
