Many fans were disappointed when Little Nightmares 3 was delayed last year. However, now, without any hurdle, the game is set to release in just a few hours. Its reviews recently came out, and they weren’t what fans expected. The average number it received on Metacritic is actually the lowest in the whole franchise.
However, the game still looks solid, and the hype isn’t dying down. On Steam, just hours before the release, Little Nightmares 3 has become the third best seller. It didn’t manage to reach the top spot mainly because of Battlefield 6 and EA Sports FC 26, so you can’t really blame it.
Little Nightmares 3 Is Selling Like Hot Cakes

When the developer revealed that there would be co-op in the game, many fans were excited, but some had concerns. The fandom worried that the co-op element might make the game’s atmosphere less scary. Many reviewers noted that it alters the tone and diminishes the sense of isolation and horror that defined its predecessors.
Despite those concerns, Little Nightmares 3 is selling extremely well and is currently the third best-seller on Steam (Steam Deck doesn’t count because it isn’t a game). Battlefield 6 and EA Sports FC 26 are in first and second place, respectively. Both of these titles are AAA games backed by major companies with massive marketing power, so it’s no surprise they’ve taken the top spots.
Battlefield 6 is also releasing tomorrow, so it will likely remain in first place for a while. That said, it’s very impressive for Little Nightmares 3 to be holding the third position. It’s also worth noting that it is currently the best-selling indie game.
While the critic reviews haven’t been ideal, the industry has recently been leaning more toward user feedback than traditional reviews. For that reason, it will be important to see how well the user reviews perform. Still, the co-op feature is likely to continue drawing criticism, even from long-time fans of the series.
