Little Nightmares 3 was released a little while ago, and as expected, the game has faced heavy criticism from both fans and critics. It launched with nearly 23,000 players, which may be lower than expected given the hype. However, the numbers are still quite solid for an indie game priced similarly to a AAA title.
It is worth noting that on Steam, the majority of the reviews are negative, which raises the question: What did the developers do wrong? The game offers a solid experience, but it may not have been enough, especially considering there are only four chapters.
Little Nightmares 3 Launched To Mixed Reviews On Steam

The game currently has nearly 4,500 reviews, and more than half of them are negative. Out of these, 2,177 are positive while 2,265 are negative, highlighting the community’s disappointment. Some fans who had never left a review on any game before felt compelled to leave a negative one for this release, which shows just how let down they were.
What was the point of the entire game? what did we learn or accomplish? i dont even know what to say im so sad right now i could cry cause i cared so much about this series and immedietly spent 85 dollars on it so i could play with my friend and now i feel cheated.
– Negative Review on Steam
Even those who have given the game a positive review have claimed that it is not worth the price. Sure, the game is short, but people should keep in mind that a free DLC is coming soon. Still, the majority agrees that the price tag is a major issue, and fans are better off waiting for a sale before buying it.

Little Nightmares is no longer a small franchise. It has sold over 20 million copies, which is a massive achievement for an indie developer. However, this third entry in the series has disappointed most of the fandom.
Its art direction and environments have received immense praise. However, the story, the game length, and other key aspects are being reviewed quite negatively.
Summary: I would not recommend this game. This game is lazy, soulless, reused assets, obviously recycled ideas that you recognise if you’ve played the first games. IF you want to play it anyways, do not pay more than 5€ for it. Because that is what the game is worth, at max.

Even The Hardcore Franchise Fans Are Dissatisfied

We have seen many reviews on Steam claiming that the game is simply not worth the price tag. Interestingly, many of the fans who are voicing these concerns are actually longtime supporters of the franchise. Some are even advising others not to play it, especially if they are fans of Little Nightmares 1 and 2.
Several reviews have also pointed out that the horror element feels lacking. Hopefully, the developer takes these concerns seriously and delivers major improvements with the upcoming DLC.
