Psychological horror adventure The Long Reach to release in March

The Long Reach aims to mess with your perception, but we’re pretty sure that the game is releasing in March. Here’s a look at the indie horror adventure.

It’s been half a year since we last had a look at The Long Reach, but we finally have a confirmation of its impending release. Publisher Merge Games has announced that the horror adventure is coming out on 14th March. The game will release across PC, Mac, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and Switch, all at once. All versions will be priced at $14.99, £12.99, or €14.99. PS4 and PS Vita owners can also grab a special Boxed Signature Edition of the game. That one will be priced at £25.

Here’s a trailer for the game:

The game is set in the New Hampshire town of Baervox, where a malfunction in a research facility causes deadly hallucinations to affect the protagonist. Despite the survival horror leanings, however, you shouldn’t expect any out-and-out action in the game. It’s more of an escape-em-up. As a point-and-click adventure inspired by games like The Cave and Lone Survivor, it involves solving puzzles to progress in the story. There’s also conversations for you to participate in, and the developers also hint at a lot of psychological trickery.

The Long Reach is being developed at Painted Black Games, which is based in Dnipro, Ukraine. Composed of four members led by coder Roman Tomilin, the studio has been working on The Long Reach since 2015. Handling publishing duties is British outfit Merge Games, which has games like RIOT: Civil Unrest and Mainlining under its belt.
