Mark of the Ninja: Remastered gets an October release date for all platforms

Prepare to get sneaky in October, because Mark of the Ninja is returning with a fresh new remastered version. Contains new content, 4K assets, and more.

Klei Entertainment has announced that the Remastered edition of Mark of the Ninja will be releasing on 9th October for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. The announcement comes with a trailer, too, which you can check out below:

Mark of the Ninja: Remastered introduces new story content and unique items, allowing you to play as a younger version of the character Dosan. This content includes a new story level. Additionally, developer commentary has been added to the original game campaign.

A New Game+ mode will also be included in the remaster. You’ll have to beat the game normally to unlock it, but once you do, you’ll find new challenges to beat and rewards to conquer.

The game’s original 720p-optimised assets have been scrapped in favour of fresh 4K quality ones. While this will be most apparent to owners of 4K-enabling hardware, the benefits of higher visual quality will also extend to those playing at 1080p. Cinematics have also been brought up to 4K quality, including reanimations in some instances.

Finally, there’s higher-quality audio, and the game now features a 5.1 surround sound mix.

The original Mark of the Ninja released in September 2012 for Xbox 360, followed by PC, Mac, and Linux releases. The Remastered edition marks the first time the game is coming out on Sony and Nintendo consoles. If you own the original game on Steam, you can upgrade to the Remastered edition at a special discount.
