Palworld took the internet by storm when it launched in Early Access back in 2024 on Steam. Early Access games are often released only on PC, but despite that, the revenue it generated was massive. It also broke many records, becoming the third most played game of all time on Steam.
The game reached over 2 million concurrent players, which, by the way, is more than the peak concurrent player count of CS2. That is a solid achievement. Not too long ago, the full release of Palworld arrived, meaning it is no longer limited to Steam.
That said, it has not even been a month since the full game was released, and it has already been dethroned from the top spot. As a matter of fact, it is no longer even among the top three best sellers on Steam.
Dethroned Thanks To Massive Discounts And Newly Released Titles
Palworld 1.0, which is the full release, launched on July 10, 2026, so it has not been that long since the game came out. It is normal for games with this level of popularity to remain at the top for well over a month. That was the case with ARC Raiders, even though it was much more expensive and had a significantly lower peak concurrent player count.
That said, Steam has recently introduced discounts on many games. Baldur’s Gate 3, the Game of the Year 2024 winner, and Spider-Man 2 are both currently on sale. Cyberpunk 2077 is also discounted, although it sits one position below Palworld.
On top of that, there have been two very recent releases, Mistfall Hunters and Corsair Cove. These games launched on July 30 and July 31, respectively. That said, these titles are unlikely to remain at the top for very long.
Palworld Is Still Among The Most Played Games On Steam
While the game is no longer in the top three best sellers on Steam, it is worth noting that Palworld is currently the third most played game on the platform by current players. The top two games are free to play, and so are the games ranked fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh. This shows that the game is still dominating the platform and could very well return to the top three best sellers.
