Pillars of Eternity 2 is Under Development, Obsidian Confirms
16 May, 2016
Obsidian Entertainment CEO Feargus Urquhart has confirmed that Pillars of Eternity II is already under development.
The news comes to us from GamePressure, who had a chat with Urquhart at the Digital Dragons 2016 conference in Kraków, Poland. He has also confirmed that the title will most likely be crowdfunded – which should come as no surprise, considering the original Pillars of Eternity was also the result of an immensely successful Kickstarter campaign (it was the highest funded video game Kickstarter campaign of its time). Urquhart is confident that fans would support the campaign.
Obsidian is currently a very busy studio, and is working on a game based on the Pathfinder franchise, Armored Warfare, as well as Tyranny: another isometric RPG. In addition to Pillars of Eternity II, a section of the studio is also working on “something completely new”, the source reports.
Pillars of Eternity is available now on Windows, Mac and Linux, having released in March 2015. Its expansion, The White March was released in two parts, with the latter part having come out in February this year.
