Colourful party platformer Runbow to release on Switch and PS4 in July
19 Jun, 2018
Runbow originally released on the Wii U, but has since shown up on PC, 3DS and Xbox One. Now, prepare to switch colours on Switch and PS4 as well.
The last time we talked about Runbow, it was releasing on PC a year after its original Wii U release, which was in 2015. The game has since released on 3DS and Xbox One in 2017. Now, publisher Headup Games is bringing the title over onto PS4 and Switch. Runbow will be available on these two platforms on 3rd July, in digital form.
If you’re fishing for a copy that you can hold in your hands, you should be pleased to know that a retail version is also in the works. No release date has been set for it, but it will arrive sometime in the third quarter of the year. The retail version will in fact be a Deluxe Version (capitals, capitals), that will include all the DLC. It will also come with two stickers.
Have a look at the original Wii U trailer below to get a feel for the title:
While the game features a single-player mode, the highlight of the game lies in the 9-player multiplayer. On the PS4 and Switch, the 9-player modes are restricted to online play. Locally, you can play in a 4-player game on PS4, and an 8-player game on Switch. There’s also co-op modes included.
Runbow was developed by 13AM games, while Spanish developer Stage Clear Studios is handling the porting duties. Headup Games is doing the publishing. The company is also publishing Slime-san on the PS4 and Xbox One.
