Skullgirls devs’ upcoming action RPG Indivisible has been delayed to 2019
Lab Zero Games has announced that Indivisible has been delayed into the first half of 2019. Here’s what’s going on at the studio right now.
Following nearly three years of development, Indivisible was slated to hit release in Fall 2018. That won’t be happening, because the game has just been delayed into the first half of 2019. The announcement comes by way of a blog post on the official Indivisible blog, which you can check out here.
It seems that like a lot of indie developers, Lab Zero underestimated the size of its project. It is unwilling (and even unable) to cut parts from the game or reduce the number of assets.
To remedy the situation, Lab Zero has hired a new Lead Level Designer and a new Lead Writer. The extension for the delay is being funded largely by publisher 505 Games, but Lab Zero is also digging into its Skullgirls royalties to get the game finished.
Whew. Making video games is hard, kids.
There’s also a new Backer Preview Update out, coinciding with news of the delay. You can find out the details on the blog post linked above.
Here’s what the game is about:
Indivisible tells the tale of Ajna, a good-natured tomboy with a rebellious streak. Raised by her father on the outskirts of their rural town, her life is thrown into chaos when her home is attacked and a mysterious power awakens within her.
Indivisible is expected to release on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Here’s the official website for the game. In the meantime, why not check out Lab Zero’s debut game Skullgirls?
Were you anticipating the game on the Switch? Consider checking out the Banner Saga trilogy. The first game in it drops really soon. If you’re playing on a computer, you could also check out Smoke and Sacrifice, which is a survival RPG.
