Superhot set to get a roguelike expansion called Mind Control Delete

Time only moves when you do, but how far can you get when faced with procedurally generated challenges? Find out in Superhot: Mind Control Delete.

One of the most creative shooters of recent years, Superhot is getting a standalone expansion that mashes up the slow-motion shooter gameplay with a roguelike system. It’s titled Mind Control Delete, and it will soon be released into Early Access. The expansion is strictly non-VR, so don’t worry about having a headset.

Players who already own the original Superhot will get the expansion for free when it releases properly. The offer stands even if you buy Superhot while Mind Control Delete is in Early Access phrase.

The pitch for the original game was simple enough: time only moves when you do, so the faster you move, the faster time moves as well. This allowed for some very interesting gameplay full of dodging bullets and carefully thinking out your strategy while a bunch of people are shooting you in the face.

In Mind Control Delete, you will face increasingly difficult challenges. As you progress through them, you will gain new abilities and playable characters. Though of course, this is a roguelike, so mistakes will cost you dearly. Think of it as The Binding of Isaac crossed with Superhot and you have a good picture of the kind of madness that’s on offer here.

The dev team has also released a trailer:

Mind Control Delete is expected to take 9-12 months of development time, so expect it sometime next year (or even the next). There’s a ton more details available at the Early Access Steam page.

The original Superhot is available on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One and PS4. Superhot VR is available on PC (with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive support) and PS VR.
