Swag and Sorcery, a satirical ‘streamlined RPG’, is coming out this week

The developers of Punch Club and Graveyard Keeper are back with a spoof of RPG villages. It’s titled Swag and Sorcery, and it’ll be out in mere days.

You can never tell what Lazy Bear Games is up to. After having you manage an aspiring boxer and then tend to a medieval graveyard, the Russian developer is back with a comedic take on RPG villages, Swag and Sorcery.

Swag and Sorcery will be out exclusive on PC via Steam, and it’ll be out this Thursday, i.e. 9th May.

In the game, you build your own fantasy village where you may train heroes, equip them with swag gear, and send them off to battle monsters and collect even more swag.

It seems you won’t be controlling the heroes directly, though. Instead, you monitor the swag they’re getting in their adventures and then pull them out if things start to look too hairy. Then, you upgrade the heroes at your village and send them out again (hopefully not to their deaths).

The story involves a king who wants you to find his missing suit, but there’s no word on any details beyond that.

Lazy Bear Games is the main developer of the game, and we reviewed their previous game, Graveyard Keeper, in 2018. Have a read here, if you’re so inclined.

Assisting Lazy Bear Games is another Russian developer, Uroboros Games, for whom this appears to be a debut project.
