Tangledeep gets new ‘Legend of Shara’ expansion on PC, Mac, and Linux

Dungeon crawler Tangledeep has received its first expansion. It’s titled “Legend of Shara”, and it’s out now on computers. A Switch version is coming later!

Tangledeep launched over a year ago, dungeon-crawling its way out of Early Access, and now it’s got a new expansion out already. The new hotness is titled ‘Legend of Shara’, allowing you a completely new and different experience playing as that titular character.

Here’s a look at the trailer for the expansion:

Here’s how the developer describes the Shara’s Story content:

You can now play as Shara in a new prequel story that happens before Mirai’s story! While the core dungeon progression is similar to the main game, the dialog and bosses are very different. In this mode, there is no town, no meta progress, and no job system. Shara does not gain XP nor levels like Mirai does. Instead, you can spend JP to level up your core stats. By doing so, your XP level increases gradually.

You’ll also have access to a 13th job, titled “Calligrapher”. Despite the peaceful name, it’s actually an all-out offensive role that involves using brushstrokes and dual weapons to deal a lot of damage to your enemies.

The level cap has been increased from 15 to 20, and you will now have access to ‘Wanderer’s Journeys’, which are special dungeons that can stretch to up to 50 floors.

To purchase and play Legend of Shara, you will need the base game Tangledeep on either GOG.com or Steam (depending on where you intend to buy the expansion).

Tangledeep is also available for Switch, but the expansion isn’t out for it yet. The developer expects to release the Switch version of the expansion later this year.
