The Binding Of Isaac (69 Percent Off)

The no-brainer on this list is going to be The Binding of Isaac. If you have not heard about this game, then you probably have less interest in the roguelike genre. That said, this is a type of game that every gamer should give a try at least once in their life.

The Binding of Isaac is one of the best roguelike games, if not the best, out there. This game is hailed as the best roguelike by many, and that level of achievement cannot be a lie. It literally defined what modern roguelikes look like, and its influence is still present.

This game features over 700 passive and active items. In this game, some items, while they do increase your stats, there are many that can completely change how you play the game. They basically change how your character moves, attacks, or even survives.

Roguelikes sometimes can be repetitive, but The Binding of Isaac has so much variety that every run feels unique. Also, most floors have a pool of bosses, so you are unlikely to face the same boss every time, which makes this game an outstanding one in the roguelike category.

However, things get much better with the sequel as it expands on everything like a true sequel and lives up to the hype.

The combat in this game is much more fluid with different weapon types, and the world has become much larger. The movement systems have been improved largely, and while the game remains challenging, it is less punishing than the first.

Developed by two people, Despelote is a short slice-of-life football adventure game that is for everyone. Even if you do not know much about football, you are very likely going to enjoy this game. Despelote is arguably one of the best games ever created. This game is not about playing competitive matches like in the FC games; instead, what you do in this game is simple.

You can kick, pass, and dribble a ball around the city, a living city to be precise. The world reacts naturally to what you do, and that is the beauty of this game. As you are playing this game, people will comment on your skills, and sometimes you can disturb conversations.

Aside from that, what makes it stand out is its tone. This game does an excellent job of blending nostalgia, documentary-style storytelling, and personal memory. It does not even feel like a game; instead, it feels like an interactive memory as you are playing as one of the developers, Julian Cordero.

The game is short; it will take you a couple of hours to complete, but it is so worth the experience. This is the type of game that you need to play. It is currently 50 percent off and will cost you $3.49.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (60 Percent Off)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 for me is the best RPG ever made. I have a deep connection with this game because everything it does feels absolutely brilliant. Keep in mind that this is considered an indie game, so the developers managed to create such a masterpiece despite working with a relatively limited budget.

Now, let me explain what makes this game so special. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 begins with you accompanying Sir Hans Capon on a diplomatic mission to deliver a letter to Otto von Bergow on behalf of Sir Hanush of Leipa. Almost immediately after the game begins, everything goes wrong.

Starting with almost nothing, you have to rebuild your reputation, survive, and eventually make your way to Otto von Bergow to explain everything that happened. From that point onward, the story continues to surprise you with one twist after another, making it incredibly difficult to put the game down.

One of the biggest strengths of the game is how reactive the world feels. NPCs respond to your crimes, your appearance, and even your behavior. If you have not taken a bath for several days, people will comment on how bad you smell. If you are caught committing a crime, you are given different dialogue options to talk your way out of trouble. Depending on your speech skills, you might convince the guards to let you go, or you may end up paying a fine or facing even harsher consequences.

The characters are also incredibly memorable, especially Jan Zizka, Dry Devil, and the rest of his band, including Kudrecha. Every major character has a distinct personality, and many of them leave a lasting impression long after you finish the game. You can grab it now at 60 percent off.

Detroit: Become Human (90 Percent Off)

Detroit: Become Human is a game that I would not recommend to those who have a very short attention span. That is because this game lacks action and is a very slow-paced, story-heavy experience. This game focuses on choice and consequence, and of course has branching storylines. You are put in control of multiple characters, and your choices will determine how the story unfolds. The gameplay is not linked to action at all. You simply have to explore, focus on dialogue choices, decision-making, and quick-time events.

A major choice on your end can change everything in the game. That choice can decide whether a certain character lives or dies, or it can completely change the path of the plot. The branching structure is ambitious, so the game keeps you on your toes with many serious choices.

If you enjoy being in control of what happens, then this game is an absolute must-try for you. Again, this game is suited for players who do not mind a single-player game where choices matter more than gameplay challenge. Dishonored (90 Percent Off)

The next game I would recommend buying from the Steam Summer Sale is Dishonored. This is a game that many may be aware of but still have not tried. So, now with a massive discount, this is the best time to play this game.

Dishonored is a stealth-action immersive simulator where choice and problem-solving matter a lot. The game has a steampunk setting, making it visually very pleasing. In this setting, you play as a royal bodyguard who has been framed for the murder of the Empress.

What I love the most about this game is that it gives you freedom in how you want to approach situations. Every mission is designed like a sandbox, meaning you can either sneak through various routes to pass certain obstacles and silently defeat your enemies. On the other hand, you can fight them head-on with your supernatural powers.

So, in this game, you can experiment with different things, and that allows you to enjoy it even more. Another thing I would like to point out is the chaos system. This system tracks your actions, and if your actions are violent, then the world will become more hostile, which also affects the story and the ending.

With 90 percent of its price being cut, it seems like a solid game to try.

Death’s Door (80 Percent Off)

If you are a fan of Zelda, then you are probably going to like Death’s Door because there are several similarities. Death’s Door is a top-down action-adventure game that features fast, fluid combat along with light exploration. The concept is very interesting. You play as a small crow who works as a reaper. Your job is to collect souls, but things take a turn for the worse when one soul is stolen, leading you into a different world where death is no longer functioning the way it is supposed to.

What makes it feel similar to Zelda is the gameplay. There are clear inspirations from classic Zelda titles, but Death’s Door feels more modern in its design and pacing. The game is challenging, but not overly so. It strikes a balance where combat stays engaging without becoming overwhelming, especially when compared to Soulslike games, where it is significantly more forgiving.

Death’s Door is also not overly complicated. The combat is easy to understand, but the game’s real strength lies in its tone and atmosphere. You will understand what that means once you experience it yourself. It is currently 80 percent off and is a pretty solid pick from the sale.

Citizen Sleeper (70 Percent Off)
