Indie Game Releases of the Week: 28th October to 3rd November 2019

This week in indie games, we have arena shooting with Xeno Crisis, outdrinking Satan in Afterparty, scary adventure Song of Horror, and more.

There aren’t many well-known indie titles in the release pen this week, but that’s all the more reason for them to shine brightly. Check out our round-up of the most interesting games releasing in the final week of October.

Xeno Crisis (28th October on PC, Mac, Linux, Switch, PS4; 30th October on Xbox One)

Developer: Bitmap Bureau
Publisher: Bitmap Bureau

Xeno Crisis is actually a port – of the crowdfunded original for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. You control a pair of marines as they fight their way through an outpost infested with aliens.

Afterparty (29th October on PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Developer: Night School Studio
Publisher: Night School Studio

Afterparty is a conversational adventure game from the creators of indie darling Oxenfree, and it stars a pair of best buds as they stare at an eternity in Hell. They can get back to Earth – if they manage to outparty Satan himself.

Yuri (31st October on Switch)

Developer: Fingerlab
Publisher: Fingerlab

Yuri has been in development for years, and it plays as a 2D platformer with a charming aesthetic. The game stars a cosmonaut as he explores strange and whimsical worlds.

Song of Horror (31st October on PC)

Developer: Protocol Games
: Raiser Games

Song of Horror is a spooky survival horror title in which you grapple with an eldritch AI. Although the game is narrative-focused, it features permanent character death, so your playthrough’s story will be unique depending on how you play.

Race With Ryan (1st November on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Developer: 3DClouds
Publisher: Outright Games

Race With Ryan lets you… well, it lets you race with Ryan across six environments, collecting mystery eggs and featuring both career and split-screen play. It’s very child-friendly, by the looks of it.
