Indie Game Releases of the Week: December 6 to 12, 2021

This week in indie games, we have the crafting adventure Wytchwood, precision platformer Love 3, puzzle platformer White Shadows, and more.

We’re getting into some serious adventuring this week in indie game releases, whether it’s in gothic fairy tale woods, oppressive black-and-white dystopias, or pirate-ridden high seas.

But wait, there’s more! We’ve also got the next game in the classic platforming series Love, as well as… uh… Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator. There’s nothing I can say to introduce that game than present the game’s title itself.

Love 3

December 7 on PC, Switch

Love 3 is a precision platformer in which you control lone survivor fiveEight, who must who must navigate a harrowing apocalyptic world rendered in minimalistic style. The game allows for adaptive play, such as setting your own checkpoints and number of lives or including a slow mode. It also includes every level from predecessor games Love, Love 2: Kuso, and Love Remastered.

Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator

December 7 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator is a market tycoon simulation game with a very self-explanatory title. As you deal in a variety of grisly commodities, you’ll experience fast-paced trading, existential dread, dark humor, and plenty of body horror.

White Shadows

December 7 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

White Shadows is a puzzle-platformer set in a monochromatic dystopian world that’s built on violence and oppression. You play as Ravengirl, who must journey in an attempt to escape a twisted city, where she finds herself at the bottom of the social hierarchy.

Wytchwood

December 9 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch

Wytchwood is a crafting adventure game in which you get to play as an old witch of the woods in a world of gothic fables. You’ll be collecting ingredients from the wild, brewing them into strange and exotic concoctions, solving puzzles, braving monsters, and passing judgement upon the characters you encounter.

Cleo – A Pirate’s Tale

December 12 on PC, Mac

Cleo – A Pirate’s Tale is an adventure game that takes equally from classic LucasArts adventure games as from The Legend of Zelda. You play as the cynical 14 year old Cleo, who, after finding a pirate logbook and seeing a ghost, sets off on her very own pirate adventure. The game features full voice acting in English and German, mini-games, and a thoroughly nostalgic flair.
