Indie Game Releases of the Week: March 7 to 13, 2022

This week in indie games, we have the action-adventure Aztech Forgotten Gods, platformer Will You Snail, brawler RPG Young Souls, and more.

What’s this about an elderly ring that everyone’s on about? Here in indie game land, we’re dealing out games aplenty and none of them involve old rings. We’ve got platformers, brawlers, action-adventures, puzzlers, RPGs – there’s a little something for everyone.

If you’re still not satisfied, have a look at the other original releases below, including such titles as Cosmos Bit, Iron Lung, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright, Distant Worlds 2, and Runout.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an appointment at Stormveil Castle in The Lands Between.

Will You Snail?

March 9 on PC, Switch

Will You Snail? is a precision platformer in which an evil AI predicts your movements and uses that information to set up traps and stop you from completing the level. To win, you must outplay the AI with your intellectual and reflex skills.

The Last Cube

March 10 on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch

The Last Cube is a puzzle game in which you play as the last cube that’s out to save its dying home. The game’s chief puzzle mechanic is the ‘sticker’ system, by which you can apply stickers to your cube’s sides and use their special powers. You’ll explore a variety of environments, from lava factories to brutalist architecture, and lots more. You’ll have to keep rolling to find out.

Aztech Forgotten Gods

Aztech Forgotten Gods is an action-adventure game in which you play as a young woman named Achtli, who’s battling the Forgotten Gods in a far-future Mesoamerican metropolis. The game’s combat emphasizes verticality, which will be necessary to beat the game’s humongous enemies, as well as to explore the unique, Aztec-inspired setting.

Young Souls is a combination of brawler and action RPG, with an involved story that follows the orphans Jenn and Tristan, who find a portal to a parallel world full of goblins.
