JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword to jump and slash when it releases this month
06 Jan, 2019
JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword is an action-platformer about our hero Jack and his giant, talking sword. It’ll be out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
Who doesn’t wish they had a big sword to solve their problems? And a talking one at that? Oh my. JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword was supposed to release sometime last year, but it got pushed out a little bit. Now it’s releasing in the fresh new babe of a year that is 2019.
According to publisher Blowfish Studios, JackQuest will be out on 24th January. The game will release simultaneously on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
A new trailer was released for the game, have a look below:
JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword is an action-platformer adventure created by the one-man studio NX Games. In it, you play as the scarf-wearing hero Jack as he attempts to rescue his beloved Nara from the clutches of an evil orc. He also befriends a giant sword and explores a massive underground world, while avoiding traps and pitfalls and slaying enemies (including huge bosses) in his way.
Australian publisher Blowfish Games has previously put out games like The Deer God and Morphite, the latter of which we covered here on Into Indie Games. They’re also working to publish the stark puppet theatre adventure Projection: First Light, developed by Shadowplay Studios; and space shooter Subdivision Infinity DX, which takes from inspirations in various genres like Salamander (Life Force), Freelancer, and Mass Effect.
For more information on JackQuest, check out its official website here. It’s also up on Steam here.
For another new take on a retro genre, have a look at Skellboy, a Zelda-like in which you loot your enemies’ body parts. If you’d rather relax and solve some puzzles, have a look at The Gardens Between.
