Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime brings battleships and love to Switch

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is bringing its style of 1-4 player couch co-op action to the Nintendo Switch. Get your buddies ready, it’s coming soon.

One of the best indie local co-op games of recent years, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is headed to what is shaping up to be one of the best consoles for indies in recent years: the Nintendo Switch. Developer Asteroid Base has announced that the game will arrive on the Nintendo eShop on 3rd October, and will retail for $15.

So just what is Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, you ask? It’s a primarily co-op shooter (strictly couch co-op, mind you) in which you control a battleship that’s exploring the titular dangerous spacetime. Each player will take on a different, crucial role in the ship, and you will have to work with your team if you want to succeed in defeating the forces of Anti-Love.

As you progress, you get to upgrade your ship with space-gems, and you don’t have to worry about the experience getting stale, as the levels are randomised each time you play.

The game holds a solid MetaCritic score of 80, and its reviews on Steam fall into the ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ camp. Also, have you seen how cute it looks?

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is currently available on Steam, Humble Store and GOG.com for those of you who prefer to play on PC, Mac or Linux. For more console-oriented players, you can also find it on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Grab a buddy in one hand and a sword in another if you want to get down to The Swords of Ditto. Or maybe drop the sword and pick up a spatula to play Overcooked: Special Edition, which is also headed to Switch.
