Hand of Fate 2 gets a November release date alongside new trailer

Cards shall once again determine your fate in the action RPG sequel Hand of Fate 2, which now has a release date. Also check out the new companion, Ariadne.

Australian developer Defiant Development has announced that its newest game, Hand of Fate 2, will release on 7th November. The game will release simultaneously across all the platforms it has been announced for, i.e. PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.

The original Hand of Fate came out in 2015 and was one of the most fiendishly creative takes on action RPGs. In it, you found yourself in a cabin at the end of the world, playing a card game that would determine your fate. Falling somewhere between a regular action RPG, a tabletop RPG and a deck-building card game, Hand of Fate was a fresh enough idea (and successful enough) to warrant a sequel.

Hand of Fate 2 uses the same premise (why fix what isn’t broken?), but adds a whole bunch of new bosses, enemies, storylines, weapon types and more. One particularly important feature is that you can now have companions on your quest. You can banter with them, and they’ll support you in combat. The newest companion to be revealed is Ariadne (the walking tank in the screenshot above). She appears to be a smith by profession, although she also puts her hammer to more creative uses.

The developer has also released a new trailer for the game. Have a look at it below.

If you’d like to catch up on the first game, the original Hand of Fate is available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.
