New trailer for The Banner Saga 3 focuses on mercenary leader Bolverk

Stoic has released another character trailer for The Banner Saga 3, and this time they’re having a look at the Varl giant Bolverk, leader of the Ravens.

It’s time to be reminded that The Banner Saga 3 continues its march towards our video game platforms, thanks to one more character trailer for the game. This one focuses on the Bolverk, who is one of the last remaining Varl giants and also the leader of the mercenary band called the Ravens. No relation to Berserk’s Band of the Hawk, I don’t think.

Be warned that the trailer includes spoilers for The Banner Saga 2. It’s recommended that you play the first two Banner Saga games before jumping into this concluding chapter.

The Banner Saga 3 was announced last year via a Kickstarter, much like the first game in the series. It secured its funding goal (and then some), and development has been going so smoothly that the game’s release date was brought forward. It’s helmed by series developer Stoic, and will mark the end of the trilogy. Here’s what’s happening in the game this time around:

Banner Saga 3 concludes the tale. Steel your nerves, step forth into the approaching abyss. Cross the threshold from daylight without end into untold darkness. Warped lands within threaten your sanity, and a writhing wyrm tests your mettle. But here, in the darkness, is where secrets are brought to light and motives are made clear. Are your friends who they claim to be? They all look to you. What story will your banner tell?
