Nimbatus has you building ridiculous space drones; now on Kickstarter

Build complex physics-based space drones in Nimbatus and watch chaos unfold as they succeed or fail—spectacularly. You can fund it now on Kickstarter.

Nimbatus falls firmly in the genre of games like Besiege and Kerbal Space Program, in which your goal is to construct ridiculous things and then watch them wreak havoc all around you, all while your friends watch baffled and frightened at once. In this one, you find yourself constructing space drones that will dig into planets in order to find valuable resources, all while fending off enemy drones.

You’ll have to be careful when you construct your drone, as one size does not fit all use cases. This is best demonstrated by the game’s trailer below.

Apart from the game’s procedurally generated singleplayer mode, you can also pit your drone against your friends’ drones in the asynchronous multiplayer mode.

Nimbatus is being developed in Zurich, Switzerland by Stray Fawn Studio. This is their sophomore project, after having released the genetics survival game Niche last year.

Stray Fawn Studio’s plan is to get the game funded on Kickstarter to the tune of 20,000 Swiss francs, and then release it in Early Access sometime in 2018. The game’s final release will be somewhere in the first half of 2019, if all goes according to plan. As for platforms, it will only release on PC, Mac and Linux.

If you’re the try-before-you-buy sort, you’ll be pleased to know that the game has a demo available to play right now. You can find it, along with more info on the game over at its Kickstarter page. Also check out the official website over here.

If you’d rather be constructing bafflingly strange warships instead, have a look at The Last Leviathan. Also consider building wobbly forts in the appropriately titled Forts.
