Lonesome Village – A cute puzzle-filled life simulator

We are Ogre Pixel, a Mexican indie game studio with seven mobile games already released under our name. We are currently aiming for console and PC development with a cute video game titled Lonesome Village, which mixes the genres of puzzle-solving, life simulator, and adventure, while being strongly inspired by Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda. 

The Game

Lonesome Village takes place in a quiet and cozy town struck by a maleficent force coming from a mysterious and enigmatic tower. You as the player take the role of Wes, a brave coyote who is determined to end the evil forces and free all the trapped villagers. Lonesome Village features RPG elements combined with social simulation mechanics. Adventure, puzzles, and challenges await inside the tower, while on the outside you can explore the world, interact with villagers and partake in various activities. 

Some of the announced game features are: 

• Customizable clothing and gender for Wes, the game protagonist
• Play an instrument as Wes
• Soundtrack recorded with real instruments
• Different world settings to explore
• Relaxing scenes in the game (ASMR)
• Special item: Photo Camera to capture images of Lonesome Village
• Companion character
• 2d animated cut-scenes

The Campaign & Xbox announcement

This project is being developed thanks to a very successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, where 3,519 backers of the project donated more than $100,000 USD. Not only was the initial goal reached, but it was surpassed, allowing us to cover the extra game features announced previously.

On Friday, May 7, as part of the program for BIG Festival, we made the official announcement of Lonesome Village for Xbox, with a special trailer featured in the ID@Xbox channels. 

Esteban Durán, director of Ogre Pixel, comments the following: 

“Thank you very much to all the people who supported us! The best thing about the campaign is the trust of so many people who believe in us and in the project.”

Lonesome Village is a game developed with a lot of heart and passion by a small group of indie game developers and artists who all believe in the story, world, and characters. Above all else, Lonesome Village is for all the supporters who truly believe in the game and are excited about its future release.
