Roof Rage is a platform fighter about performing martial arts on rooftops

The stakes are high (probably), and so are the rooftops (definitely) in Roof Rage, which is an upcoming platform fighter about martial arts.

What better place to host a martial arts showdown than the top of a building? The slightest mistake could send you hurtling down to not just your doom, but your ignoble defeat. Roof Rage is a game that’s all about battling it out on rooftops, and it’s coming out in Early Access form on 8th June.

The game features eight unique fighters, each bringing their own style of martial arts into the fray. Apart from good ol’ kung fu and karate, you’ll also find a katana-wielding ronin, a gun-wielder and a lady with a massive hammer. You can fight either 1v1 online, or in 8-player local. You can fight in a free-for-all, team deathmatch, a score match, or enter the practice mode.

There’s a whole bunch of combos for you to master. Not only that, but you can pick up roof tiles and toss em at your enemies, or use them in your combos.

Developer Early Melon has ambitious plans for the game’s Early Access phase. There’s going to be new game modes, new characters, new stages, tutorials, and even a story mode which will presumably explain why all these varied fighters are out for each other’s blood.

On its Early Access release, Roof Rage will be available only on PC, via Steam. The game expected to be in Early Access for at least six months. A Nintendo Switch version is also planned for later this year.

Indie devs just love classic films. Consider Milanoir, which is styled around Italian crime flicks from the 1970s. Also check out Garage, which thinks it’s a VHS tape of a gory B-movie.
