Torment: Tides of Numenera is free to play on Steam for the weekend

If you haven’t yet experienced the mad, imaginative world of Torment: Tides of Numenera, now’s a good opportunity. The game’s on sale, too.

Hefty price tags shall torment you no longer, because Torment: Tides of Numenera is now absolutely free to play for a limited time. You can get in on the action over at Steam, where you can play the game at no charge for the entire weekend. Like other free weekends, there are no time limits, so as long as the offer is live, you can play as much as you like. Steam offers the game on PC, Mac and Linux platforms.

In addition to the free weekend, the game is available for purchase at a discount through the weekend. You can get your own copy for 60 percent less monies than the asking price. That means in the US, you can get it for as little as $18.

Here’s what the story-heavy RPG is about, in the words of developer inXile Entertainment:

You are born falling from orbit, a new mind in a body once occupied by the Changing God, a being who has cheated death for millennia. If you survive, your journey through the Ninth World will only get stranger… and deadlier.

With a host of strange companions – whose motives and goals may help or harm you – you must escape an ancient, unstoppable creature called the Sorrow and answer the question that defines your existence: What does one life matter?

Apart from the platforms listed above, Torment: Tides of Numenera is also available on PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the official website here.

In other role-playing game news, Indivisible has been delayed to 2019. In the meantime, you can check out the survival RPG Smoke and Sacrifice.
