This walkthrough series of Truberbrook covers the game on a puzzle-by-puzzle basis, which involves a lot of backtracking. It also omits side-content that isn’t relevant to the story progression. At all times, it is recommended that you explore the game world yourself and only consult this walkthrough when you’re really stuck.

Intro

You’ll find yourself controlling an as-of-yet unknown character. Your motorcycle is out of gas and has an overheated engine. You also don’t know where you are. You’ll have to fix all three of these problems to proceed. But first, we need to get the power in the gas station back on.

‘Use’ the rain gutter, and a key will fall out. Grab the key, and use the key on the door to enter the gas station.

Inside the gas station, look to the paintings on the left side of the screen. There is one painting that is connected to two points of cables. Inspect that painting, and then use it to unveil a hidden switch. Use it to light up the gas station.

Head back out and use the gas pumps to fuel up your motorcycle. That leaves your overheated engine to worry about. Thankfully, the freezer should give you the cold water you need to cool your engine. However, it’s frozen shut, so we’ll need to thaw it first by cutting off its power.

Examine the toolbox on the table to the left side of the gas station. You’ll find a pair of pliers. Go back inside the gas station and use the pliers on the cables to snip them. Now that there’s no power going to the freezer, it will thaw and cause cold water to leak out. While you’re still inside the gas station, pick up the cup on the table in the centre.

Go out again and use the cup on the freezer to pick up cold water. Use the cold water on your motorcycle. Now you’re back in shape, but you still don’t know where you are or which direction you should go in.

Head back inside the gas station and grab one of the postcards above the counter. It’ll have a map, so now you have an idea of where you are. Go back outside and use your motorcycle for an anticlimactic finish to the intro.

Prologue

The prologue is a puzzle-free section of the game, so you should really take the time to look around and explore. In this walkthrough, we’ll proceed with the story directly.

From the bus stop, walk all the way to the right of the screen to get to the Truberbrook Town Square. Go all the way right again and use the door of the guesthouse (the one near the streetlamp).

In the guesthouse, use the bell on the counter and you’ll summon Trude, who runs the guesthouse. Have a chat with her.

After the cutscene that follows, head out of the bedroom and then out of the guesthouse. Walk a little to the left to talk to the woman in the shadow. Another cutscene will follow, and then you’ll find yourself on the lookout above Truberbrook. Talk to the woman who followed you and you’ll learn that she’s named Gretchen. Watch the rest of the cutscene to proceed to Chapter 1.
