Welcome to Arctic Awakening, where survival isn’t just about braving the cold—it’s about piecing together a mystery buried beneath the ice. You’re Kai, a pilot left stranded after a brutal storm tears your plane apart in the frozen north. With your co-pilot vanished and your only companion a court-mandated therapy bot, you’ll have to use your wits, instincts, and every tool at your disposal to explore vast, haunting landscapes, uncover sci-fi ruins, and reveal the hidden threat that haunts the Arctic nights. Let’s dive in—from the wreckage to the secrets awaiting in the snow.

Prologue

After the short intro sequence, I had control of the plane. I could check things around the cockpit – like the stuffed dinosaur, the bag of chips, the family photo, the postcard on the left window pane, the light switch on top and the steering.

Alfie will show up in the cockpit and I got dialogue options. I picked Sure, I suppose.

I answered Donovan next and then answered him a few times as the plane was crashing.  

Episode One: First Awakening

After I woke up, I looked around. There was an empty medium box to my right. I could see the red haze where Alfie had gone down – I ran towards it and woke it up.

I opened it’s back and pressed the power button. Alfie will then check the channels for Donovan. I headed towards the fuselage and Alfie informed me he couldn’t leave the vicinity to check for Donovan. In the dialogue options, I picked this is an emergency. Next, I chose the option to go look for firewood.

Collect three small branches

I had to collect three small branches.

I went to the left and climb the small snow hill and found a large branch – which was of no use. I turned to the right and found a cereal box and to the left of it was a branch.

I picked up some soda cans along the path and kept them. I found another branch right next to the fuselage. The last one I found on the ridge on the hill near the cockpit.

Find a way to get warm

Place the firewood at the entrance near the fuselage. Inside the plane I looked for a Firestarter but found some canned food and sunglasses. I checked the emergency box on the wall for a Flare Gun.

There was a knife and a Firestarter next to the flare gun. I then used the Firestarter to light the fire. I also picked up the Medkit and space blanket. Anyway, the Firestarter was not going to be enough to light the fire. I used the knife on the plane seats to get the flammable foam inside. I used that as kindling and tried to light the fire three or four times till I got a fire going.

Salvage Supplies from the Wreckage

After the fire got going, I headed out to salvage supplies from the wreckage. As I was looking around a call came in from Donovan. I asked if he was hurt. Once the conversation was over, I went back to looking for supplies. Donovan called again and asked if I could use Alfie to look for him. I went back to looking for supplies – food boxes, cans etc. Once I collected eight boxes/cans, I went back towards the plane.

Soon, I asked Alfie to power down and then rested. Once I woke up to the sound of something.

Find and scare away the intruder

I picked up a burning branch from the fire and went out. I brought out my compass and followed the noise.

I waved the branch at the drone that had shown up. It ran off towards the trees on the left of the fuselage. I went that way and then waved the branch at it again. It went over to the trees on the other side.

I got over there and waved the branch again. Once the drone had retreated, I went back to the plane. Aflie woke me up the next morning. I called in to Donovan but there was no answer. Alfie told me that it had scanned the area and saw a tall, skinny structure and a large industrial one to the west. I checked my compass to see which way was west.

Investigate what Alfie saw west of the camp

I started walking to the west. I went down the hill and then I decided to go right, by the cliff.

I followed the edge and then through the rocks and over the crevice. I followed the path till Donovan called in. I kept barrelling down the hill till I reached the bottom of the hill and saw a tall structure.

It’s a lift leading up. Alfie checked something on top and then flew off to the left cause it saw something. I ran over to him and saw a giant dish at the bottom.

I turned to the left and headed down to the installation. I just followed the path down till I reached the fences. I kept going straight till I found a break in the fence.

I headed towards the dish while speaking to Alfie. I found stairs to go up on the left. There’s equipment strewn all around – cables, cannisters etc. I looked around till I found an orange door.

I went in and eventually found a biometric scanner blocking access.

Strangely, this opened the door. I went in. I checked the lockers for random objects and food. One of the collectibles I found was a mug. There are 15 of these in the game. I found a yellow winter jacket and a key card.

I scanned the card on the door behind me.

This door led me to an operation console. I checked the computer console but it was on standby mode. A little bit further up ahead I found an Amplifier.

I looked around till I was presented with the options to ask Alfie to do something. I asked him to activate the robotic arm.

This opened up a path to the other side.

On this side I found another bio scanner and scanned my hand.

This caused a reboot. Donovan then called in about an orange glow that he can see. Alfie told me that we should go to that orange light. He was picking up some sort of beacon signal. I headed back the way I came and then made camp for the night.

When I woke up the next day, I went out through the door on the right. Then I headed left till I found a bio-scanner that was locking a metal gate.

I kept going through the path and underneath a fallen tree. I followed the path while conversing with Alfie till I reached a strange orange cylindrical structure.

My vision got narrower as I got to close to the NESE tower. I moved to the left and sat by a rock formation.

Then I played through this breathing minigame.

This cleared up my vision. I got up and kept going to the left and found a balloon and a crate from the plane.

I ate the food around the crate to stave off hunger and discovered I could eat 10 different brands of cereals – which is another collectible. I picked up all the food from the crate as well as the rope. 

Find a new path back to the plane

I kept bearing left now. I kept going till I saw a path lit up by a light. As I came upon a frozen stream, a call from Donovan came in. I kept following the lights and then started climbing the ledge.

At the top I followed the lights again and kept climbing up. At the top I spoke to Donovan again. I asked him the first building, T-Bird and the second tower, NESE. He replied he is seeing Yeti around where he is. I found another rock formation or cairn. This location is opposite a campsite. I did the breathing exercise again to calm my mind down. From the cairn, I went to the left and found a cave entrance.

I went through the cave to come out to a ledge leading to a campsite.

There are various lab equipment on the table. I picked up a few test tubes and checked the strange tree on the right. I went over the stones on the stream and kept following the light. I went down the mountain now. At the bottom when the terrain levelled out I kept going straight. Simple path really, I kept following the lights. I kept moving down till I reached a stream going down and I followed it down.

I kept going straight at the bottom and then up the hill. I climbed up the next ledge and then next ledge a bit further up ahead. Soon I reached a frozen lake and another call came in from Donovan. I kept moving while speaking to Donovan as I moved up the mountain. Eventually I saw a orange and white structure and what seemed like another camp site.

I moved on up the mountain, and soon the crash site was in view. Jumping down caused me to crash and pass out.

Cover up the hole in the plane

I needed to cover up the back of the plane. Straight down the stretch from the fuselage were these floats that I could use to close up the back.

I brought these back to the fuselage and closed up the opening. Donovan called in about a plane and I then used the Flare Gun from the plane to fire a flare.

Unfortunately, nothing happened. So I went back to the plane and went to sleep.

Spell SOS anywhere in the snow with the rocks

The next morning, Alfie and I decided to make sure there is a permanent sign to get help. So we decided to build an SOS with rocks. Pick up rocks from around the place and follow Alfie’s instructions/light to build the sign. If you are hungry, eat something from your inventory.

Once the S is done, the screen went black and I woke up inside the plane trying to fit the amplifier to the plane.

After a conversation with Donovan and Alfie, I hit the power switch. It didn’t power up. After a short discussion and a couple of changes. I tried again.

I tried to get a signal out and it didn’t work. I heard the plane from earlier back overhead.

Set the large dead tree on fire

The current plan of action was to set the large dead tree on fire. I picked up a burning branch from the fire. I headed towards the large tree on the left of the crash and set it on fire.

I waited, but three drones showed up and started putting the fire out. Frustrated, I headed back into the plane and sat by the fire and had a chat with Donovan. We figured out his general location. I asked Alfie to turn his lantern back on and headed out. I stumbled around in the dark following Alfie around and having an uncomfortable discussion with Donovan. Alfie eventually told me, that he plotted out a viable path to Donovan.

The next morning, I had climbed up a ledge somewhere north of the wreckage.

Track Down Donovan’s Location North of the Camp

I got up and to the right past the stream – checking my compass generally heading north. Eventually the path forked to the left and I came across another stream. I followed it down and crossed over the rocks. I kept going down the mountain.  I kept going till I came across a log bridge and crossed over.

On the other side, I turned to the right and kept going till I found a road. It seemed like an access road. I followed it up and north. There were warning signs about falling rocks around the place. Donovan called in, and I asked him if he was okay. I kept on going north following the lights.  Eventually, I reached a cliff that I needed to climb.

I got up the cliff slowly. I kept bearing north. I turned to the right when I hit the asphalt again. Donovan called in again. He was coughing. Eventually I came up to an elevator leading up.

Once I got out at the top, I head north again and turned left away from the road. I kept going through the rocks and suddenly the world turned dark and a strong EMP wave passed through. I could see a truck in the distance. I found a cairn here – so I sat down and did breathing exercises.

Once I was done, a call came in from Donovan. I could see a light in the distance. I found some food near the truck – so I got my hunger sated. Kept going to the right of the cairn. The road led to an installation in the distance.

There is a road going left past the installation. I kept heading down the road. Eventually I came to an underground structure but the road went through it. Donovan was not answering. I kept going, following the road, then I took a left towards a waterfall.

I was at the powerplant where Donovan said he was. I saw the silos in the distance and head towards them. I climbed up and picked up a crowbar then I kept going. Looking around the area, I found his chute and signs that he was dragged away.

I found his cigar case near the chute. Then to the right I followed the drag marks through the installation. I followed the path down to the waterfall and crossed over the pipes and the narrow path. I kept going till the trail ended. I saw something strange as I stopped over the cliff.
