Kira, The Exile
Part 1 begins with the game’s opening cutscenes before introducing the core combat mechanics. After picking up the flaming sword, you’ll complete a short tutorial covering blocking and parrying, light and heavy attack combos, sprinting, dodging, lock-on, healing charges, and charge attacks. As you make your way through the cavern, defeat the groups of smaller dinosaurs and a larger enemy to gain your first level before saving at a Save Stone. Continuing deeper into the area also introduces the Instinct Counter mechanic, a powerful counterattack that can be triggered by perfectly parrying a boss when their Resolve Bar is full. At the end of the path you’ll face the first boss, Kira the Exile. The fight is fairly straightforward once you learn to avoid his three-hit combo and charging attacks while using Instinct Counters to deal heavy damage. Defeating Kira unlocks the Summoning system, allowing you to summon defeated bosses in combat, while also giving you access to Soul Arts upgrades that can be purchased using Boss SP.
Axe
In Part 2, you continue exploring the northern paths, collecting valuable SP while clearing out groups of smaller dinosaurs and tougher enemies armed with scythes and hammers. The route takes you past several waterfalls, multiple Save Stones, and hidden SP pickups tucked between rocks, inside a giant skull, and along the main path. Before the area’s boss, you’ll also learn about unblockable attacks and have another opportunity to adjust your character’s attributes. The chapter concludes with a battle against Axe, a melee-focused boss who relies on spinning combos, diagonal slashes, and powerful jumping attacks. Defeat him by dodging his heavy strikes, parrying where possible, and punishing the openings before absorbing his soul to continue your journey.
Kasei The Tyrant
Part 3 sees you pushing deeper through the mountain caves, fighting waves of hammer-wielding dinosaurs while collecting more SP hidden along the route. After passing behind a waterfall and resting at another Save Stone, you’ll reach the area’s next major encounter, Kasei the Tyrant. This two-phase boss begins with fire-based attacks, sweeping tail strikes, charges, and powerful slam attacks before switching to a massive greatsword once his health drops below one-third. The second phase is more aggressive, featuring fast gap-closing attacks, sword throws, and heavy melee combos. Stay close to Kasei’s side, dodge his unblockable attacks, parry when opportunities arise, and punish his openings to defeat him. Absorbing his soul unlocks the path forward to the next area.
