Part 1

In Part 1 of Scarlet Deer Inn, Elise begins her journey by helping Kuba recover his toy horse before running errands for the villagers. After collecting a bottle of wine or mead from the cellar and delivering it to Mistress Dorota, she helps move hay into the stable. She is tasked with delivering cakes and messages to Karel the beekeeper, Otto the winemaker, and Lada. Along the way, she explores the village, speaks with several residents, visits the churchyard to talk with Father Johannes and her late husband’s grave, and eventually finds Lada by the old oak tree before returning to Otto’s house. With her errands nearly complete, Elise heads to Karel’s Apiary, where the seemingly peaceful task takes a dark turn. Investigating strange noises in the cellar, she discovers the body of a young boy hidden among blocks of ice before a mysterious swordsman appears, attacks her, and throws her into a pit, bringing the chapter to a shocking end.
Part 2

In Part 2 of Scarlet Deer Inn, Elise escapes the pit beneath Karel’s cellar and navigates a sprawling underground labyrinth filled with torches, braziers, crumbling platforms, hidden passages, and broken levers. Along the way, she collects a rag doll and a small shepherd’s flute while solving environmental puzzles to unlock new routes through the caves. After surviving a tense chase where she must stay within the light of a mysterious creature, she finds Horace, her son’s wooden horse, and escapes back to the surface. Returning to the inn, Elise learns from Anna that the Noon Witch has taken Kuba and Bara. Although she tries to convince the Bailiff by leading him to Karel’s cellar, all evidence of the horrifying scene has vanished, leaving her without proof and forcing her to continue the search on her own.
