The Perfect Pencil is a surreal action platformer with Metroidvania‑style progression. The game requires you to explore a connected world, unlock abilities, and revisit areas. You play as John, a camera‑headed protagonist who can use his analysis ability to scan objects, characters, and parts of the environment to unveil hidden info.
As you explore areas, you can find map orbs that reveal parts of the region on your map. You’ll gain combat abilities and train with characters who teach new techniques. You can also look for breakable walls and hidden passages to enter the new areas or acquire required items.

The Perfect Pencil: The Soft Forest Walkthrough
We enter The Soft Forest and progress to unlock new areas and purchase abilities using Balbs. The enemies, like the humanoid caged and fat pillow guy, are harder to eliminate early, so use your abilities to take them out quickly.
The Perfect Pencil: The Hotel Walkthrough
After progressing through The Soft Forest, we enter The Hotel. This area is filled with multiple NPCs and deadly enemies. We unlock some new abilities and equip the Filaments to become more lethal in fights.
