007 First Light – Against The Odds Walkthrough

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough covering the Against the Odds prologue mission of 007 First Light.

Things go wrong fast. A routine mission for an aircrewman over a remote island is suddenly thrown into chaos after a sudden missile strike.

James Bond appears to be the sole survivor of the crash, stranded and outnumbered by strange, hostile members. He is forced to rely on stealth to figure out what is really happening.

The Beginning

The first cutscene of the game shows two helicopters filled with armed men making their way into a remote island. As the pilots are on the radio with their boss, a missile strike hits one of the helicopters.

This puts the crew into panic mode, and the second helicopter tries to deploy flares to escape the missile attack. However, this only postpones it, and it gets hit and crashes.

The plane crashes and the crew gets separated, but we see one of them survive and manage to make it to land. Now you need to check if there are any survivors that made it out alive.

Progress forward and you will be able to see a light emitting from a soldier, go check him out, but unfortunately he is dead. Just when you do that, you will hear some soldiers coming your way with guns.

You need to dash to nearby cover to hide and sneak past them. Stay crouched and move slowly, avoiding being caught.

There are more soldiers as you keep progressing, so you just need to stay behind cover and not be seen because you are in no shape for fighting.

Locate The Camp

Just when Bond tries to use his radio to report the situation, an MI6 handler will take over and instruct you on what to do next. She will inform you that there is a camp nearby that you need to find.

The path is pretty straightforward, and there are some platforming sections that you need to complete to reach the ledge. Here, you will be able to see the camp the handler has mentioned.

Reach The Camp

From here, you need to make your way down and get closer to the camp, which means more platforming sections you need to complete.

When you get close to the camp, you will see two hostiles speaking. Stay in cover until they get out of the way. When this happens, you will spot an A2 container in front of you, and to your left, the window is open.

Go inside and take the coat to warm yourself. Just when Bond puts the coat on, a hostile enemy will enter and ask him why he is late.

To our luck, Bond knows how to speak Montenegrin, so he responds. This shakes off the hostile and he leaves, leaving Bond to finish getting ready.

Search The Room

Back to being safe. You have the container to yourself so you can look around and see if there are any clues you can interact with.

There are a few, and you can talk about them with the MI6 handler. But the one you need to inspect is the dead body in the server room.

When you are done, exit the container. Bond will put on his disguise mask to blend in and roam the camp freely.

Search The Camp

While you are in disguise, you need to be careful and not draw attention, but you can move freely around the camp.

Your goal is to approach the tent in the center. Around the camp you can enter certain containers and interact with more clues.

Halfway through, the path will be blocked by a vehicle, and you need to use the remote laptop in order to reverse it and clear the path. From here it is pretty much straightforward.

Inspect Crashed Object

Go through the tent and around the white tarp until you reach the opening at the end of the path. Go inside and approach the strange object.

The MI6 handler asks you to look inside and find the OBC unit. However, it seems that these people have already retrieved it.

Look For The Onboard Computer

The MI6 handler asks you to check if the OBC unit might have been stored inside one of these crates around, so you need to look around and open them.

Just as Bond is searching, he starts to feel weak and dizzy, and his vision begins to blur slightly. During his search, there is no sign of the OBC unit.

At the end, you will see two people wearing hazmat suits coming out of the red room and approaching your direction, but you just need to stay put and keep in cover.

Find Antidote

The MI6 handler will recognize that Bond’s sound distortion requires attention and that he has been exposed to a nerve agent.

She instructs him to go through the red door, the same one the two hazmat suit personnel came out from.

Go through it. Inside, you should find a green box with an orange stripe. Bond’s vision will still be blurred and he will walk a bit unsteadily, but you need to push through.

The box that you need is on the other side at the end of the hallway to your left. Approach it and open the container to find two syringes, but only the orange one is suitable for your case.

At this point, Bond’s vision is blurry and he cannot distinguish which is which, so he decides the unthinkable. Despite the handler’s warning, he injects both of them at the same time and hopes for the best.

This puts Bond unconscious for a brief while until the antidote takes effect, and then he wakes up.

The MI6 handler speaks to him and informs him that his mission is done and he can rest now and wait for the extraction team to arrive.

Follow The Guards

Just when he exits the tent and returns to the camp, Bond notices a captive being held by the hostiles, and they are walking him toward the camp.

Despite the handler’s warning, Bond decides to follow the guards and see what they are up to. You can use the ledge on the side to platform and keep up with the guards.

At some points, the hostiles will shoot the captive and move on, and Bond believes there might be more captives being held hostage that he can save.

The MI6 handler forbids him from doing so, as he has less than a one percent chance of success, but come on, this is James Bond we are talking about, so he does what we expect from him, toss the earpiece and continue with his rescue plan.

Save The Captives

There are two sets of captives, the ones in B4 located on the right side and G9 located on the left side. There are multiple routes to reach them, and you can do so in any order you want.

We started with G9 and then proceeded to B4, and we will walk you through our route on how we did it.

G9 Captives

First drop down and crouch to hide in the long grass, then go through the mountainside on your left.

Follow this path and do some platforming until you reach the ledge from which you can jump to the container rooftop.

Here you will spot an open window and directly below there is a hostile enemy.

You can perform a takedown from here and jump on him quietly. Open the door where the captives are and free them.

B4 Captives

Exit the G9 container and sneak around the middle of the camp. Here you will find an underground passage that has no guards. Drop down and go to the end of it.

Now look behind and climb up to enter the window; you will be inside the B4 container.

You will find a hostile guarding the captives, so you just need to sneak up on him and take him down.

With the guard down, free the captives and speak to them. Bond asks them that he wants to send a signal to the other captives so they can run toward the extraction site.

One of the captives mentions that snapping one of the wires on the central mast should serve as a signal. She then asks you to keep the detonator in your possession just in case.

Loosen Mast Wire

A ladder will be dropped so you can access the rooftop, so you need to climb it. This will take you directly toward one of the three mast wires that you can tamper with.

Sabotage the wire and this will cause the mast to drop, triggering a massive explosion. This should be a good signal, not just for the captives but also for the hostiles.

Escape The Camp

Now drop down and go toward the C2 container and exit. Here you will be spotted by one of the hostiles and he will try to shoot you. Bond defends himself and ends up shooting him.

This was the only way to get out of here, but this is no time to think, as the signal for extraction is sent and you need to start running with the captives toward the extraction site.

This part is straightforward; all you have to do is run toward the objective marker while being chased by many hostiles.

Eventually, your escape route will end as it reaches a cliff, and now you and the captives are surrounded. Bond can only think about the detonator he has, as it is his only way out of here.

Just when the hostiles try to aggravate him and say that MI6 would never let him blow up this place.

Little did they know that Bond was just an aircrewman and not until today had he heard or been contacted by MI6.

So James does the most Bond thing imaginable and triggers the explosion on the island, and then the beautiful “First Light” by Lana Del Rey begins to play as the opening credits roll, absolutely excellent work, so sit back, relax, and enjoy it!

In His Majesty’s Secret Service

After the opening credits, we see James arriving at a building, as expected. As he approaches the receptionist and introduces himself, an MI6 handler recognizes him and tells him to follow her.

Follow her to the elevator as she takes you to her boss’s office. You both arrive at M’s office but you will need to wait for her until she gives you permission to enter.

Meanwhile, Bond tries to have a conversation with the secretary Ponsonby, but she is not very talkative and is a bit cold toward him.

When the time comes, M will send the signal and you will be able to enter M’s office and speak to her.

M starts the conversation with Bond about the Iceland incident and then leads it into an invitation to join His Majesty’s Secret Service.

This means that you have to join the training program, pass the tests, and ultimately become a spy. This, of course, comes with risks, but this is definitely Bond’s alley, so he is eager to start.

M asks you to follow Moneypenny as she fills you in with all the necessary details you need to know, and since you are behind as the latest recruit, you will have a lot of catching up to do.
