Chapter 1 of 1348 Ex Voto begins after the tutorial introduces basic combat like two-handed stance, Perfect Attacks, blocking, and guard breaks. The player must navigate a village that has been raided, fight the raiders, and make their way to the castle. The player must collect food to maintain the food bar and collect papers to upgrade Audatia (combat), Prudentia (health, food, and guard). The player must navigate burning buildings, the rooftops, and the church to finally make it to the castle courtyard to fight the raiders and initiate a cutscene showing the discovery of Bianca’s brooch.
Chapter 1: Prelude
After the opening cutscenes and tutorial, which will teach you two-handed stance, Perfect Attacks, Blocking, and Guard Break, you will be in control. Run to the right, cross over the fallen log, jump over the broken bridge, crawl under the fallen log and you will see the town fallen to a raid. Keep going to the right and climb up the ledges. Jump down at the end of the path and keep heading towards the red smoke in the distance. Climb over the fence and up the stone stairs. Pick up the food from the table and climb over the wall.
Take care of the raider you will run into. Go up the stairs on the left and keep to the right path. Pick up any food you find on the floor. Keep to the path on the right and you will see another raider infront of the Blacksmith.
Take him out and go through the door beyond him. Heal if you need to and pick up the food items around to keep your food bar topped up at all times. Make your way through the burning building and turn to the right and up the path. Push the cart to the wall.
Cross over the planks and jump down. There’s more food on the bench. Keep going and you will reach the church. Take out the two raiders here. Go inside to find everyone dead. Pick up the paper from the church podium. These are required to update Audatia, your weapon combos and Prudentia, your health, food and guard upgrades. Go back out and take the left path going straight through the gate. You can pick up more food through the dead end on the left before going through the gated path.
Go through the burning building and outside. You will see the castle and have to engage with another raider. Go up the steep stairs and to the left. You can loot the house for some food in the pantry of the looted house on your way up. Go through the archway next and you will see a door marked with X, keep moving past them and going around you will reach the Troubator’s house. Drop down and loot the paper. Now pull out the crate and climb up.
Climb up to the roof and go left. Drop down to the streets below and go up the stairs. You will engage two more raiders in an open market space. Once they are done, you will see a path heading north, it blocked by cart and there is blood pooling under it.
Go up the hill till you reach the castle gate. Go through and fight the raiders out on the yard. Once they are down, you will see a cutscene and Bianca’s brooch.
