Absolum – Yeldrim Walkthrough

Absolum

Absolum features many alternate paths that you can take to reach Azra, the Sun King, inside his tower in Asterios. Due to the game’s randomness, each run feels like an entirely new playthrough. For more information on Absolum, check out their official Steam page.

After you’ve visited Jaroba a few times on Zafari’s ship, you’ll come across a mist that will lead the ship to Yeldrim. From there onwards, you’ll be able to go to Yeldrim on will. This region provides an alternate path to Asterios, and if you take the route, you won’t have to go through Jaroba.

Yeldrim, City Of Forgotten Bliss

Yeldrim becomes accessible after you’ve visited Jaroba a few times. You don’t have to defeat the Lizard King to unlock it.

Yeldrim is the land ruled by the Silver Queen. You’ll find a ton of wraiths and undead here. This city is also sacred to the residents of Calamh, and as such, it’s home to a cult, as well as a destination of pilgrimage.

The Pilgrim’s Road

Right as you enter Yeldrim, you’ll reach the entrance to the Pilgrim’s Road. You may find many decaying skeletons on the path, and if you destroy them, they’ll release a skeleton warrior or a wraith that you’ll have to battle against.

The path here is quite straightforward, as you only have to progress straight ahead. But there are some hidden locations in certain sections here.

In certain sections, you’ll spot statues with different colored lights. A little ahead in the same section, you have to light the statues in the same order to unlock a reward.

If it’s your first time in Yeldrim, or if you’ve yet to unlock the Ritual here, you’ll have to keep progressing until you encounter a few undead who’d ask you to stop in the game of the Silver Queen. You’ll find the Necromancy Ritual shrine just right ahead.

Once you’ve destroyed the Shrine and Uchawi have taken hold of it, you’ll be able to get and use Necromancy Rituals from now on.

Dark Town

After going through the Pilgrim’s Road, you’ll eventually arrive at the Crater’s Edge. There is a resting point here.

From here, you have to jump off the cliff. You can also see the crater in the background. Doing so will let you arrive in the Dark Town area.

Furthermore, there’s a section where you have to take a lift in the Dark Town area. Right after the long lift lands, you can destroy the rock to the left of the landing spot to uncover a hidden compartment.

Near the end of the area, a gigantic bell will fall on the ground in the middle of the section while you’re battling against a wave of enemies. Keep your eyes on the target icon if it pops up on the ground during battle.

The Vault Of Memories

After going through the Dark Town, you’ll arrive at the Vault of Memories. This area splits into two. You can either answer the password correctly and go through the Cult path above, or you can go through the catacombs path downwards.

You’ll also be able to heal yourself here, but there’s a cult member here who’ll ask you for a drop of blood before allowing you to heal. If you do let him get your blood, you’ll face slightly weaker clones of yourself ahead on the Cult’s path if you do decide to take it.

For the Cult’s path, if you interact with the door, a voice will ask you two questions, and you have to answer with the correct emotes to open the way forward.

As the voice asks if you seek the truth, you have to do the thumbs-down emote. When you’re asked to show the voice if you’re one of them, do the thumbs-up emote to be granted entry through the gate.

The Catacombs Of Renewal

The Catacombs of Renewal are one of the two ways to reach the Silver Queen’s arena. However, you’ll encounter many undead here.

In one of the sections, there’s a necromancer standing inside a skull. The necromancer will keep spawning skeletons, and you won’t be able to progress forward until you defeat the necromancer.

You have to break the two bones holding the jaw up for the skeleton where the necromancer is standing. Once you do so, the necromancer will fall, and you’ll be able to fight against it.

At the end of the region, you’ll arrive at a resting camp. However, this resting camp is a fake one. You’ll see three catacomb guardian statues in the back. These statues will come alive and fight against you one by one.

If you fail to defeat one of them in a short amount of time, another one will show up. You have to defeat all three to progress.

Once all three guardians have been defeated, the resting place will become available to use, and you’ll be able to go to the Cathedral Canyon, which will lead you straight to the Silver Queen.

The Mansion Of The Cult

The Mansion of the Cult is the alternate way to reach the Silver Queen in Yeldrim. After you’ve answered the password correctly, you’ll be able to enter this area.

You’ll have to fight against the cult members and the abominations they’ve created and experimented on here.

As you progress, you’ll eventually reach the hall where you’ll have to fight against larger, more grown horrors, not the little creatures that you’ve been facing so far.

At first, you’ll have to fight against a black full-grown horror. After defeating it, a white twisted horror will show up. Once you’ve defeated both, you’ll have to fight against the two of them together.

After winning the battle, progress ahead to find the resting camp in the next section. You’ll be able to enter the Experiment Rooms area.

The Experiment Rooms are full of horrors and goblins, who will turn into horrors on defeat. If you’ve given off your blood to the cult member earlier to heal yourself in the Vault of Memories, you’ll also face your clones in this region.

If you reach a room with a giant hole in the center of it in the Experiment Rooms, jump into it, and it will unlock a treasure chest. Exit the section and you’ll arrive outside of the Silver Queen’s arena.

Defeating Morta Mima, The Silver Queen

When you first enter the boss arena, you’ll see the Silver Queen turning ghosts into Exiled units that serve Azra. She’ll immediately get ready to fight against you.

If you have any trinkets that enhance your damage against multiple targets, that will help you out a lot here because Morta Mima summons a near infinite number of skeletons and other creatures during the boss battle.

As the boss battle begins, the Silver Queen will cover herself in Spectral Armor. She’ll do so every time she jumps deeper into the arena. You’ll have to break it before you can deal damage to her.

The armor makes her a much tankier boss, but once it’s out, she gets staggered easily by your attacks, making her an easy target for combos.

After losing a quarter of her HP, she’ll go deeper inside her castle, throwing bones at you from a distance and spawning spikes on the ground to slow your path. You have to make your way to the extreme right, where she will be guarded by a few other undead enemies.

Repeat the process, and when only 40% of her HP is left, she’ll jump away to the deepest part of her arena. You have to run to the right again. However, this time, she’ll also spawn skeletal totems on the way to slow you down.

You have to ignore everything on the way and head straight to the boss; the skeletons and everything else are just a diversion.

Shortly after defeating Morta Mima, you’ll be able to take the ship to Asterios, where you’ll have to face the Sun King Azra.
