In this walkthrough, we will cover Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve’s Missions 6 – 10.
Previously, Rex became the Joker’s lead fighter, and everyone respects him. Fitting into the shoes of an ace pilot isn’t something easy to do, but Rex, the protagonist, is getting the hang of it. Not only that, he can talk to Cope, the former ace pilot, in his head despite his death in a plane crash. And now, after Endurance and Dauntless fail to retake Theve due to a miscalculation by the Enso Order, we need to come up with another plan.

Mission 6 – Attack on the Drinwich Airfield

After the FCU failed to recapture Theve from Sotoa, we have lost numerous precious supplies and firearm stocks. While the casualties were minimal, the financial loss hit Endurance hard. So, to recoup our losses, it’s time to hit an enemy base and steal their supplies so we can hold our ground if we’re attacked.
All main targets in this mission are on the ground, but you will need a little bit of air-to-air expertise to counter the enemy’s fighter jets. Still, your priority should be the former. This mission’s area is vast, and you will have to keep an eye on the Spread troops.

Take down all the ground troops so the Spread troops’ HVTs can make their entry into the airbase. However, if you accidentally even hit a single target on the base, the mission will be aborted. So, make your shots count, and they should be 100% accurate on the ground troops, as the final section will spawn 20+ enemies into the airbase.
This is where the waiting game begins. Soar through the skies while the Spread troopers take control of the base, and after a while, the mission will end.
Mission 7 – A Lifeline in the Desert

Back at the Drinwich Airfield, we shot down a plane that created a massive crater on the runway. While the XO decides to scold us over this, she then turns back and debriefs us about our next mission: Destroying Faith Park. The majority of Sotoan war supplies are in this area, and to stop them from learning about a secret weapon development in White Valley, we need to take care of them.
Mission 7 has 239 targets, and it’s natural that you may run out of ammo in the process. To refill, go into a corner of the map and cross the retreat line. Then, return to the battle and claim your rightful victory. And from here, you will be met with Annihilation Battles. To complete this mission, you have to meet the target score before the timer runs out.

Most of the targets are on the ground, and they give the most score, too. Keep up the pace and achieve the target score. If you do manage to reach it early, the mission won’t end until the time expires, so you have extra time to wreak more havoc.
Mission 8 – Retaking of Theve II

With most of the supplies and power equipment destroyed, we now have the upper hand compared to Sotoan forces. And now, with the new satellite images, we know about Sotoa’s battleship range. It’s time to make a move to retake Theve again, but XO reveals that FCU has to stay cautious now. As soon as the battleship is out of Theve’s range, we’ll push the advantage.
In this mission, there are naval, ground, and aerial targets. We need a perfect balance between air-to-air and air-to-ground specialization. So, gear up in the hangar and get ready to fight for Theve again. As usual, you will be providing air support for the ships.

It’s the dead of night, and nobody is expecting a wave of force. Push through Theve and mow down all the ground forces to make space for the ships and friendly tanks. Destroy them completely; then the aerial force will arrive to attack the ships.
Fly through the skies and take them down, too. However, as things are going in our favor, the Shadow forces make a return under Lux Lunae’s 77th Unit. They’re extremely hard to take down, as they specialize in swift maneuvers. Still, use your special weapons to lock on and blow them to bits.

And within a few minutes, the ground forces will take over the enemy HQ and plant their flag. With that, this level comes to an end, and we have now recaptured Theve successfully.
Mission 9 – The Land Battleship Blockade

As the FCU has now successfully recaptured Theve from Sotoa, it’s time to strategize further and take down their railgun battleship. It’s coming for Theve again, and if we don’t take it down, the capital will belong to the Sotoa again.
XO prepares a massive plan to take it down. For that, she will deploy numerous bombing vehicles under the battleship to expose its weak points. And until that happens, we have to cover them. Of course, the battleship will deploy drones for its self-defense, but Joker will take care of them.
After this debrief, ready your plane in the hangar and sortie. This whole mission is about the giant Land Battleship that you have to destroy. First, take down the ground targets to protect the bombing vehicles and let them push under the battleship.

As soon as they blow, the treads will be exposed, and this is when you have to shoot. However, as the second tread is destroyed, the battleship will release swarm drones, and destroying them isn’t easy; it takes more time than usual. Once they’re dealt with, destroy the normal drones, and keep attacking the treads.
The friendly unit will blow up multiple buildings to stop the battleship from moving. While it initially works, this ship is unstoppable. However, when it reaches the three Heaven’s Central, the engineering team fails to blow it up. Now, it’s your job to do it and stall the landship for once.
Everyone celebrates that it has stopped. But the battleship has a trump card up its sleeve: Thrusters. It uses the thrusters to make one final march towards the bridge. Finally, after you destroy the thrusters, the mission will end.
Mission 10 – Over the Rainband

With the successful demolition of Sotoa’s Land Battleship, we have earned a break. But it isn’t something for the strongest of fighters out there. According to Nikolai, Sotoa is now planning to make a sister Land Battleship in the North, which also belongs to their deadly satellite: Tontirus Spears.
Again, thanks to Nikolai, he has given the FCU enough information on how to avoid Tontirus completely. It has a small rainband that we have to avoid, and even if it targets us from space, there are several airships in the area that use their lasers to guide the missiles. As soon as we see the lasers, we have to destroy them, and then destroy the production parts for the sister Land Battleship.

Now that we know about the rainband radius and the laser targeting system, it’s time to set up our fighter jet in the hangar and then sortie for the mission. Compared to the previous mission, it’s pretty lenient.
All you have to do is wait for the lasers to appear. Listen to the countdown on the comms, and as soon as it reaches zero, follow the lasers to the airships. Destroy the three airships while tearing down the Sotoan fighter jets, and the mission will end.
