Set in the decopunk world of Aether & Iron—where aether-powered tech has lifted 1930s New York into the sky—you step into the shoes of smuggler Gia, navigating a city split by class, crime, and conspiracy . In “Lemon and Hard Landings”, we are off to find out our stolen Chimera car. We meet Cress and make our way to White Street where we meet General Eli and the Aether Rats, Alexander and Maria.
The Hole
Gia and Nellie will be at Gia’s base of operations now – the Hole.
Click on Gia’s Apartment. Inspect the booze, Uncle’s photograph, Cigarettes, Comic Books, Greenhouse window, stash (it should have a shotgun inside), the hat and finally speak to Nellie.
Exhaust all the options. You can choose to coddle her or show her tough love. By the end of the conversation, you should have a Coleman Hawkins Record for Cress Carter. Click on the comics to distract Nellie with and leave. Next, head to the Garage.
The Garage
Click on Cress and then click on Percy the cat, perched on the ceiling. Interact with Cress to start the conversation. Give her the record to appease her anger. Cress will provide you with a vehicle and bunch of clues. You need to get to White Street, meet a contact near North White Street Harbor, fina another contact at Pier 9 and question the aethoneers about the car. Select the Rusty “Lemon” Car by clicking on Bay 1. You can pick up the shotgun from the stash as well.
You can check the car’s parts but there’s not a lot you can do now except swap the shotgun in for the pistol. Go back to the Hole now. You are going to head to White Street. Click on Private Ferry and then on First Point Ferry on White Street.
Click on North White Street Harbor, Pier 9 once you are in White Street.
You will get stopped by a Customs Officer for a parade. If so take in the sights and talk to the Passerby for more information. You will see Eli Tillinghast, the general, take care of a dissenter. A few dissenters. If you try to steel your nerves, you will need to pass an Enforcer check. Regardless, the parade will continue.
The Grand Promenade
Inspect Destruction and the Black hat man. Observe General Eli. Watch the crowd. Speak to Nellie to find out about the Red Aether weapons. You will need to pass atleast one check. You will have the option to wait the parade out. Back on the road to the Pier now, Nellie will start a conversation. Continue the journey. Once you get to your destination, check for the symbol to find the entrance to the Undercity.
Pier 9
You can force open a crate here to find a crate of components and brass knuckles. Inspect the Stencilled Shape next. Popper will show up. Speak to him. Ask him about the missing car. You can choose to see if he knows Cress with a skill check or give him 10 scrap metal to get him to talk. Once the doorway opens, speak to Alexander and Maria. Exhaust all the dialogue options. Eventually they will ask you to go find Water Filtration parts. This will start the quest King of the ‘Fill. These two quests are entwined.
