Agatha Christie: Death On The Nile – Epilogue 1 Walkthrough

Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile

Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile has two endings. Epilogue 1 is the good ending where Jane Royce is able to uncover the secrets of the Spire, but doesn’t have to get her own hands dirty to avenge Emmy Dunnes. For more information on Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile, check out their official Steam page.

Note that the ending you get at the end of the game depends on the choices that you’ve made as Jane Royce.

Richetti’s Satchel

As the epilogue begins, Poirot has to go and answer some questions about the events at Karnak. The rest of the passengers have arrived at the Imperial Nile Hotel in Aswan.

Jane decides that she’ll be looking up at Richetti’s satchel to uncover the secrets of the Spire.

Go back inside the hotel and head to room 107, which belongs to Jane Royce. There will be a bag near the bed.

The bag contains lots of pictures and some audio cassettes. Jane decides that she’ll be setting up a clue wall.

You have to interact with each object on the bed that Jane has pulled out of Richetti’s bag. After you’ve interacted with these objects, Jane will automatically stick them on the wall.

Now, you have to make connections. Keep making connections because you won’t be able to leave the room until you’ve made enough connections.

Jane will borrow Hayashi’s audio cassette player to listen to the audio tapes inside Richetti’s bag. You’ll be able to include those on the clue wall as well.

The Clue Wall

After making some connections, Jane will figure out that the first leader of the Spire was Linnet’s father. However, as the hierarchy in the organization goes, after a high-ranking official is dead, the one directly below them replaces the one above.

After you’ve uncovered that the leader of the Spire is the Wolf, after Linnet’s father died, Jane will immediately hear a noise from outside calling for Mr. Pennington.

Marie Van Schuyler is standing alongside the Receptionist outside of Andrew Pennington’s room, and water is flowing outside of the room. It appears that something must’ve happened to Mr. Pennington.

Andrew Pennington’s Murder

Jane will go inside the room. Unfortunately, the fuse is blown, so the room is quite dark. Marie will hand over a flashlight to Jane so she can investigate.

You’ll find Andrew Pennington dead in the bathtub. A lamp has fallen into the bathtub and is likely the reason behind Andrew’s death.

Andrew has a tattoo of a Jaguar on his shoulder. It appears that he’s also connected to the Spire and is a ranking official.

After inspecting the crime scene, you’ll find that the lamp was unscrewed and was held in place by a fishing line, which was cut to make the lamp fall into the bathtub.

The fishing line can be picked up from near the other end of the bathtub, but you’ll have to zoom in, as it’s quite easy to miss.

Andrew Pennington’s briefcase also contains some documents regarding the Spire. Jane will take them and can add them to her wall later on.

Interrogation

You’ll have to interrogate the neighbours. These neighbours include Marie, Mr. Fergusson, Cornelia Robson, and Adele Allerton.

The only ones that has access to the vent in Pennington’s bathroom are Mr. Fergusson and Cornelia Robson. You can also interrogate them about their respective secrets.

It will be revealed due to his Signet Ring that Mr. Fergusson secretly belongs to a wealthy family, which is also a target of the Spire.

Cornelia Robson’s picture inside her dear pocketwatch will reveal that she is also a victim of the Spire, as her father was stripped of his wealth by Linnet’s father, the previous leader of the Spire.

Making More Connections

Go back to your room after talking to Mr. Fergusson about his Signet Ring and Cornelia Robson about her picture with her father.

You’ll be able to make many more connections here, thanks to the documents that you recovered from Pennington’s briefcase.

Ultimately, you’ll reach the conclusion that Andrew Pennington was the current leader of the Spire, and the order to kill Emmy came from him.

Confrontation

Now that you’ve made some connections, you’ll be able to confront Cornelia and Fergusson both. Both of them had a motive to kill Andrew Pennington, but the murderer is only one.

You’ll get the option to confront any one of the two. If you confront either, the other will automatically be confronted and will be called to the lobby in front of all the other passengers.

As you go downstairs, you’ll also find Poirot there, who has just returned from the police station.

Jane will then reveal the secrets of the two suspects in front of everyone and describe how the murder happened. In the end, she will name one culprit for Andrew Pennington’s murder, and that is Cornelia Robson.

The Trap

The culprit had set up the trap for Andrew Pennington before the trip on the Nile even began. After that, the culprit adjusted the ledger to make sure Andrew Pennington would end up in the room with the trap, making it possible for the murder to happen.

Jane will have to physically walk to the reception and interact with the notebook. Here, you have to select Pennginton’s room 106 on 20 February, and then Robson’s room 106 on 25 February.

In the end, Cornelia would accept that she did indeed commit the murder of Andrew Pennington, because she knew he belonged to the Spire who had destroyed his family’s wealth.

The next day, Jane will reveal to Poirot that she’s planning to head back to England and dig deeper into Emmy’s murder. The conversation with Poirot will be the last as the epilogue ends.
