Alabaster Dawn is the newest game developed by Radical Fish Games, previously known for their cult-classic indie RPG Cross Code. Despite being in early access, the game has a ton of content to offer to its players. Your main objective in the game’s world is to break the curse of Nyx and lead humanity’s charge to rebirth. If you’re hearing about the game for the first time, check out its Steam page.
In this walkthrough, I’ll cover Alabaster Dawn’s prologue, including how the game mechanics work and numerous story quests.

The End of The World – Prologue Quest

Before Nyx’s arrival, humanity was thriving and was preparing for the inevitable. Still, despite everything, its appearance left everyone surprised, and the village decided to take shelter underground. When the first cutscene ends, you’ll take control of the group’s leader, Dahmon, navigating through the village to lower Nyx’s morale by defeating its army, known as Nuemera.

Follow the path forward and break all the small rocks you see in your path. After a few moments, Nuemera will ambush you and your ally, Nima, and this is where the combat takes the first step. Press left-click to attack with your sword, which can be chained by pressing repeatedly.
If an enemy blinks before attacking, press Space to dodge and avoid their attack. Dodging drains the stamina bar, which appears below your character. Move forward to talk to one of the Gods, and then ahead; another ambush awaits you. By holding the left click, you can initiate a long swing attack that kills multiple Nuemera at once.

Suddenly, an enraged Nuemera will arrive on the battlefield and shoot lasers. To avoid it, press E at the right time to block and parry it. It’s a tough enemy. To assist you, Eshrin arrives from the other corner and halts its movement, allowing you to kill this enemy immediately. See a bar under an enemy’s health? That’s the stagger meter. Fill it up by hitting an enemy repeatedly, which stalls all their attacks.

With this, head to the main gate where the Nest has made its home. However, before you can attack, further enemies block all of Dahmon’s allies’ path, and a special Nuemera will stop you from progressing further. It’s fast, but you can parry its attacks by pressing E. Dodge, parry, and keep attacking until it is enraged. Before it can do anything, Eshrin and Nima hold it, and now you can use the Divine Art.

Hold Shift, and release it when the meter charges up completely. With this, the group defeats the special, enraged Nuemera. But their victory lap doesn’t last long, as numerous other enemies overrun the area, and the group still decides to face them head-on. Unfortunately, their weapons, also called the power of the Gods, suddenly disappear, indicating that the Gods have abandoned them, and all of them meet their demise. And this concludes the prologue questline.
Meeting Juno – The Lost Lands Quest

After the disaster with Dahmon and his allies, another individual named Juno o’Lira wakes up in the underground. She is the main character of this story.

When she escapes the coffin, follow the southern path to exit the Underground. Inspect the surroundings and then continue moving south to find a Divine Marble in the middle of green plants. This gives her God’s blessing, and a Water Pig appears from a Divine Cabbage, calling her the Chosen one.

As they talk, a Nuemera shows up. Cabbage, the Water Pig, will give you a Divine Sword called Claio Solas. The combat basics remain the same, so take down the incoming Nuemera. When the encounter ends, Juno reveals that she isn’t a Chosen and was cast out in the underground, which is the reason why her awakening took longer than expected.
She asks about her village, but Cabbage reveals that the Gods are silent, and it doesn’t know what happened there. Now, she worries about her parents, and it’s time to get to the village. In the west, cross the gap in the river by jumping over the broken bridge and the boulder in between.

Suddenly, numerous walls will block your path, and Nuemera will appear; walls represent an important encounter. Defeat all the enemies, and then you will learn about the healing mechanic. See the bulbs at the bottom left of your screen? You can use them by pressing F. They replenish your health bar by an insignificant amount. If you see a massive bulb on the ground, hitting it will restore your health fully.

Move north, and since the next location is out of reach, Cabbage will expand your arsenal with a ranged weapon, a Divine Crossbow called Bogha Solas. To remove the walls that hinder your path, hold the right click to aim your crossbow at the flowers above, and then release it to shoot the bolt to destroy them.
Continue moving west, and fight against the flower-mortar enemies that drop shells on you from afar. Use the crossbow to defeat them. After defeating the next encounter, you will unlock the Growth Chart that serves as a skill tree to unlock passive abilities.

The Growth Chart can be accessed from the main menu and requires Growth Points to unlock further skills for Juno. Additionally, every weapon has its own individual chart, allowing you to learn combat arts. All Growth Charts rely on Growth Points, so don’t forget to farm enemies whenever you need to unlock further abilities.

Follow the western path, defeat another encounter with flower enemies, and then you’ll reach the Kamu village. Juno inspects the village and finds nothing except the destroyed wellspring. Still, it isn’t her village. Since the western path is now blocked, head south.

There, you will find a Waysprout, a camp where you can rest and heal. Doing so will respawn the enemies and healing sprouts in the area as well. Move forward and follow the path until you hit a dead end. To destroy this wall, shoot the flowers. However, the final flower is blocked by another wall. Climb up the ledge and go around to find an angle to destroy the remaining flower.

In the next area, Wasp Nuemera will appear, which can execute long-range attacks. Keep some distance, and then wait for the right moment to attack them. Next, cross the river by using the platforms to your right, and pave your way forward until you encounter a special plant.

See red arrows before a projectile is shot? It indicates that you can parry it. Either reduce their damage, or press E right before the projectile hits you. Then, clear the encounter and continue moving forward to meet the same Nuemera that defeated Dahmon. Stay away from its AOE, and then parry its tentacles as soon as you see a pink flash on them. Repeat the process, and then you will be able to defeat it.
With this encounter, Juno finds Lyhamn’s underground shelter. However, it’s locked. So, she continues her journey to the village, and after defeating the next encounter, a Nyx Vein opens.

Use the ledges to climb up and then weave the Vein to break the wall before you continue exploring. Jump across the broken bridge to finally enter the village. However, nothing has changed, as everything is still destroyed, including the Wellspring. She breaks down, but Cabbage tells her that there is still a way to save everyone, and her target is near. She turns around to find a pillar of light, which represents Nyx’s nest’s location.

So, follow the path to weave the nest before things get worse. However, before you can access it, Inferna Vespa will block your path.
Inferna Vespa Boss Fight

Inferna Vespa is a giant wasp that shoots out pellets and stomps the ground to create an AOE. The best way to deal with it is to stay away and shoot bolts when it’s mid-air.

Don’t try to swing your sword at it when it drops down for a stomp attack. Instead, keep shooting our bolts at its abdomen until the stagger meter charges up and it falls to the ground. That’s your cue to get near the boss and attack it until it flies.

When it gets back up, Inferna Vespa shoots multiple lasers from its mouth. Either dodge or parry them to avoid getting hit, and then repeat the process until the boss is defeated.
Post Inferna Vespa Boss Fight

After Inferna Vespa is defeated, Juno will move forward to weave the nest, but knowing she has used a huge chunk of power to do it, she falls unconscious. Suddenly, all the gloominess is overtaken by greenery, and thanks to Juno’s efforts, life has returned to this region.
