Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Chapter 7: The Storm and Chapter 8: The Nexus in Aphelion.
Aphelion is a dual protagonist story set on the planet Persephone, where Ariane and Thomas are not just trying to find each other but also evidence that supports the existence of human life. This walkthrough covers Ariane’s journey through the freezing equatorial storm of Persephone and the last strand of Thomas as he luckily manages to reach the nexus in Aphelion.

Chapter 7: The Storm
You’re back to the icy mountains of Persephone and playing as Ariane. As soon as the cutscene ends, keep going straight and use the ledges and the winch point to get across the ditch. Take the right path next and slide down the mountain.
You’ll come across a river that you’ll need to cross. There’s another ditch right in front, and some ledges on the left side of the ditch. Use these ledges to reach the top.
Once you ascend, turn right and open your EM scanner. Match your frequency as shown in the image above to fix the anomaly root here.
After fixing the root, go down and look left with your EM scanner out. There’s an anomaly here which you need to fix as well to construct a bridge that allows you to get across.
Use the ledges to get a little higher, and then utilize the winch point to reach the ledges on the other side of the gap here. You’ll need to descend using the ledges here and head inside a small cave in this selection.
Run straight ahead and slide your way through the narrow gap here to trigger a cutscene. Continue moving straight ahead to enter the equatorial storm of Persephone.
Surviving The Storm
The storm’s low temperature can freeze Ariane, so you’ll need to take rest stops in between your journey. As soon as you enter the storm, the first stop is on your right side, and it’s actually a huge rock that blocks the storm’s winds.
The second rock is to the left of the first rest stop. For the third stop, keep heading down and a little right from the second rock to reach the safe zone.
The next safe spot has some ledges for you to climb as well. Move towards the left side from your current position to reach these ledges.
As you reach the top, firstly, take shelter behind the rock on your right. Then use the ledges and the winch point next to the rock to get to the other side. You’ll need to be quick in your movements here.
Hide behind another rock after you get to the other side of the mountain. Next, use the ledges in front of you to get across the small gap. Follow the straight path down to reach more ledges, but don’t forget to take shelter if you need to.
As you start climbing the next set of ledges, make sure to wait on the ledges where the storm’s winds cannot freeze you, as a barrier protects you here. Keep climbing to the top while taking shelter in-between.
Once you reach the top, use the winch point on your left to descend. Build momentum after descending to jump onto the ledges on the farther left side here. Use the ledges to climb to the next section.
You’ll need to slide your way down after climbing in this section. As soon as you slide down, make your way to the boulder in front of you to gain shelter from the storm.
You can find the next safe point on the left side of the boulder that you’re currently standing near. Keep heading down and stick to your left.
Continue moving straight ahead from here, and you should spot the next barrier that protects you from the winds. You’ll need to keep moving straight and take a left from the next boulder to slide down into a cave, which allows you to escape the storm.
Escaping The Cave
Stick to the linear path inside the cave first; there are no turns here that you need to worry about. As you come across a gap, take a U-turn, and you should spot another path on your left. Start following this road next.
Once you go through the narrow passage at the end, you will come across Nemesis. Use your EM scanner to trigger the anomaly decoy in front of you. As Nemesis gets baited by the noise, you should take the path on your left to ascend stealthily.
At the top, you’ll find another anomaly that you can use to distract Nemesis. Stick to the left side of the walls and keep heading straight after baiting Nemesis. You’ll come across a small hole at the end, which you can crawl through to the other side.
A cutscene plays next, after which you’ll need to take the path on your right. Use the ledges to ascend further and walk slowly across the tight, icy road to get across.
There are some ledges on your right that you’ll need to climb in order to progress. Get to the other side and keep following the straight path ahead.
As you make a small jump down at the end, you’ll find more ledges on a small cliff on your right. Climb these ledges to spot a winch point.
Attach yourself to the winch point and climb upwards on the rope. When you ascend half the length of the rope, look back to spot more ledges on the wall. Build momentum to jump onto these ledges next, which allow you to get out of the cave.
Fighting The Storm Again
Once you get out of the cave, head straight and a little to the right to find some shelter against the storm. Continue moving straight ahead from this boulder to reach your next safe point.
On the left side of your second shelter, there’s an anomaly that you need to fix. Open your EM scanner and match the frequency to construct a bridge here that allows you to get across.
Climb the ledges on the other side and slide down the mountain. Make sure to steer clear of the lightning while you’re sliding down.
Sprint directly straight ahead once you get down to trigger a cutscene at the end, which marks the end of the storm in Aphelion.
Chapter 8: The Nexus
You’ll be back to playing as Thomas in this chapter in Aphelion. Use the lift in front of you to descend inside the base. Connect yourself to the oxygen tank in front of you and take the path on your right through the half-open door.
Use your winch to remove the debris and clear the path. Crawl through the cleared space to get to the other side. Connect yourself to the oxygen tank here, head left, and interact with Frank’s body to obtain the commander’s credentials.
Head straight ahead next, and go down the stairs at the end. Take a left after heading down, and unlock the door here to get inside the med bay of the base.
Now that you’re inside the med bay, it’s time to deal with Thomas’ wound. Head inside the big room in front of you and interact with the bed here to trigger a cutscene.
Once this cutscene ends, leave the med bay and go through the door on your left. Make sure to refill your oxygen if it’s low.
Finding The Nexus
Slide through the narrow space on the other side of the door on your left. Keep following the linear path after getting out of the base, and you should arrive at a closed gate. Interact with the gate to trigger a cutscene in the story.
After the cutscene ends, you’ll need to crawl through a lot of debris in this section. As soon as you crawl out, get inside the lift in front of you and use it to go down.
Once you descend to the bottom, take the stairs to go down further and then head left. Crawl through the small gap here to get to the other side. You’ll be able to refill your oxygen after crawling out, too.
Head up the stairs on your right and interact with the machine here, which is also marked on your screen. After interacting with the machine, use your winch on the circular object behind the machine to trigger a cutscene, which completes The Nexus chapter in Aphelion.
