Ashes of Creation is an MMORPG where you have to pick one of the two routes after creating a new character. The path of Wisdom and Renewal focuses mostly on crafting and gathering compared to its counterpart, the path of Order and Conquest. You can only pick one of the two paths, and both of them feature similar quest lines, but with a different approach. For more information on Ashes of Creation, visit its official website here.
As an MMORPG, the game gives you a lot of freedom to do whatever you want. However, there are a series of main quests that you’ll have to do. These quests not only teach you the basics of the game, but also allow you to get a feel of the world around you.

Welcome To Verra
After you’ve created your character, you’ll have to talk with Gatewatcher Al-Shaari and select the Wisdom and Renewal path.
He’ll then ask you to defeat a few sickly goblins along the way as you make your way to the Sunfire Consortium. From here, you can look around and pick several different types of weapons.

These weapons aren’t anything extraordinary, but you can easily try them out to see which one fits your playstyle best.
After that, you have to go out. You’ll find an Emberspring here. If you attune to it, you’ll respawn here after death. From here, you have to take the path to the east.

You’ll find many sickly goblins along the way. These goblins will keep respawning, but you have to kill at least five of them.
After that, you have to meet with Sunfire Asim Aslam, who’ll be on the other end of the path with the sickly goblins.
Asim Aslam will ask you to go and seek an audience with Amir Arkour. You can find this man at the camp in Samia’s Hope.

Of The Rootways
As you talk with Amir Osmun Arkour, he’ll ask you to find the Rootwarden and get yourself attuned with the Emberspring in Samia’s Hope.
Attuning with the Emberspring will cause you to respawn at it after death, and it is a necessary step in progressing the quest.

You can find the Rootwarden standing next to the Emberspring. Talk to him before attuning yourself at the Emberspring.
Once you’re done, return to Amir Arkour, who’ll then give you your next task.

No Plan Survives
Amir Arkour will then ask you to find a thief that they’ve caught and make him speak about where he has hidden the bread.
Go to the marked location on the map. You’ll find the thief named Sly Zareem in the jail behind Jailer Qasim. Talk to the thief, and he’ll tell you that he didn’t steal the bread, but you can find something to eat left behind by someone near the easternmost tower.

On further inquiry, Zareem will tell you that the dead drop is hidden inside the ruined building.
Take the eastern exit in Samia’s Hope and progress straight towards the east. You’ll encounter some hooded strangers on the way. The ruined building is shortly ahead of that area.

It’s best to arrive in this place during the daytime, as the insides of the ruined building are too dark to see anything at night.
Search the inside of the building, and you’ll find some crates. Interact with these crates to find the dead drop Zareem was talking about.
Once you’re done, you’ll have to return to Amir Arkour with the flatbread.

Hungry For More
Amir will be extremely suspicious about the bread that you’ve found. On further inspection, he’ll find the scent of the bread to be foul.
He’ll ask you to find Cleric Beyam and deliver the suspicious bread to him, being quite sure that if it is poison, Beyam will know about it.
You’ll find Cleric Beyam next to a cart near the eastern gate of Samia’s Hope. Beyam will encourage Amir’s suspicions about the bread. However, if he has to confirm if it’s poison, he’ll need more of it.

Finding More Of The Poison
There’s a red grit on the bread, according to Beyam, and it was added after the baking was done. Now, Beyam is looking for more of this red substance because he can’t figure out what it is.
Beyam asks you to look for this substance in the bandit camps. Now, you’ll have to go towards the camp with the hooded stranger enemies, near the ruined building where you found the dead drop.

There will be some bags full of rations near the tents here. Investigate these bags. After that, you have to keep defeating those hooded stranger enemies until one of them drops something.
It can be anything, but you have to go and check their inventory. Once you’re done, return to Beyam.

Hand Eye Coordination
Beyam thinks that there’s goblin’s powdered blood in what we’ve found at the camp, but he’s looking for the full formula of what they’re up to. Beyam will ask you to search the ruined walls east of Samia’s Hope.
As you get there, you’ll find several Bonebinder Creepers, goblins. As you reach the marked spots, you’ll have to further dive into the groups of these enemies.
Here, you’ll have to defeat at least one Gravehide Seer until it drops something that you can pick. After picking up the dropped items, return to Beyam.

The Great Mirage
As you return to Beyam, he’ll give you the Heartwood Extract. He wants you to apply this extract to the corrupted roots to see if it helps them resist the corruption. You’ll have to head to the Eastwatch Rise to find these corrupted roots.
To reach the Eastwatch Rise, you’ll have to circle the mountain to get on top of the area where this structure is located.

Once you’re there, the objective will change, asking you to use the extract on the Vessel of Vahzur. The building is quite dark at night to explore fully, so it’s best to head there during the daytime.
Go upstairs inside the Eastwatch Rise. On the top floor, you’ll find a hole on one side, and on the other side, there’s a big room with an urn in the middle. You have to use the extract on the urn.
After using the extract, you have to return to Samia’s Hope and report to Amir Arkour.

Short Term Service
Now that Amir knows that the bread was poisoned, he asks you to head to the Briarmoor Farm and talk with the headwoman there. This is a fairly long journey.
Get on your horse and make your way to the farm. Once you’re there, talk to Loretta Briarmoor, the headwoman. She asks you to help out the Workhand Nobles.

First Useful Thing
Talk to the Workhand Nobles, and he’ll give you a task to craft a simple rucksack. He gives you all the tools to gather all sorts of items.
This quest will teach you how to gather and craft items, and is similar to the one on the Order and Conquest questline. However, due to you being in a different region, the approach to the quest is quite different.

First, you’ll have to gather herbs from any flowers. The only flower that you can find and gather easily in the early game is the Snowdrop.
Snowdrops can be gathered from the white-flowered patches found in the open. You’ll need at least five of those.

After that, you’ll need five units of Drawtwine Wax and a Packwright’s Universal Strap Set. Both of these can be purchased from a Textile Vendor.
Buying The Materials From The Vendor
You can find the Textile Vendor, alongside all the equipment to make a Rucksack, towards the southeast direction from the Emberspring on Briarmoor Farm.
Once you get here, you’ll need some coins to purchase all the materials. Sell the Glint items that you’ve gathered so far in the game to the vendor for some coins. Use that to purchase the Drawtwine Wax and the Universal Strap Set.

After that, head to the Weaving Station. Here, you have to craft five Coarse Threads using the Drawtwine Wax and the flowers that you’ve gathered. It will take around two and a half minutes for the crafting to be completed.
Head to the sewing station next. Here, you have to select the Simple Rucksack. After that, you have to head back to Workhand Nobles and show them your craft.

Raising The Barn
Workhand Nobles asks you to head over to the nearby alchemist, Biarne, and bring over the supplies from there. You can find this area towards the southeast direction from the Briarmoor farm.
Once you reach the marked location, talk to the Alchemist Biarne, and they’ll ask you to pick up the nearby crate of supplies.

You can find the crate outside of the structure where the Alchemist is. Pick up the crate and walk all the way back to the Workhand Nobles.
Note that you cannot run fast while carrying the supply crate. However, you can put it down momentarily if you need to do something.

After you return to Workhand Nobles, put the supply crate in the wooden platform in front of them.
Talk to Workhand Nobles after delivering the supply crate, and that would mark the completion of Wisdom and Renewal’s main quest line.
